A good read for anyone who enjoys a story filled with magic, passion, and the resilience to confront the shadows both within and without.
Incredibly fast-paced, I blinked and the here’s the relationship, another blink and the plot twist. With the story moving along so quickly it was difficult to immerse myself in the sense of danger the plot calls for. It leaves me wanting more backstory, more buildup and a little more intensity.
That said, I absolutely LOVE Rosanhi, and her tenacity. The world building is imaginative and easy to comprehend. That cliffhanger…. the suspense is going to kill me!
For newcomers to fantasy, I think this book would be a fantastic start. Or if you enjoy a slightly more relaxed fantasy adventure this book is great.
The audio quality was great, I enjoyed her voice and it wasn’t difficult to track which characters were speaking. I’m so glad that the different characters didn’t have that odd off-sounding problem from trying to do different voices.
