If you look up a “dysfunctional family” the dictionary, you’ll see this family. Their daughter has become an adult at 14, She cared for her mother while her father had an affair but then he killed the other woman and has no way to escape a guilty verdict.

I really enjoyed this story. I wondered from the beginning if I had it right and I did. I thought the narrator was excellent with the exception of the childish voice of Reed. I could hardly stand it and almost quit listening. Besides that I thought it was an excellent story.

I was a good story. It was a bit to predictable, but the narrator kept it interesting. Would recommend if you want an easy listen.

Robin James has written another outstanding book in the Cass Leary Legal Thriller series. At first I had my hopes up that this time I would be able to figure who really committed the crime, but once again I failed I was feeling confident in my guess until the tight twists near the end caught by surprise.. Well done Robin James. I can’t wait until the next one, in the meantime on to the Maya Brent series by Robin James.

Gosh, I had NO IDEA of the twist near the end and another one in the last chapter!!! Gets your heart pumping for sure!
