Conspiracy of Dragons is my favorite book in Louisa Masters series. Stephan’s paranoia has been a troublesome issue throughout the series, causing most of the other characters to keep secrets, avoid his presence, and handle his over-the-top security demands as gently as possible. Everyone at Here Be Dragons, except Stephen, thought they were safe from attack from extremist human groups and other members of the magic Community. In their mind, the biggest problem is the imbalance in the Life Force and resulting loss of magic over time. No one wants to live without their magic! Well, Masters throws the entire dragon household and the Community into frightening confusion and chaos with her unexpected introduction of a mysterious new dragon.
I enjoyed getting to know Stephan’s back story, and his secret relationship with Wil.
Joel Leslie narrates beautifully, employing his different voices and voice acting skill. Totally elevates the listening experience.

This book has more angst, conflict, and intrigue than the others since the Hidden Species series, and I liked it! Heartbreaking at times, but full of love, redemption, and hope. The whole two series of books with many of the same characters comprises Joel Leslie’s master opus, from all that I’ve heard of him so far.

The story is a great ending to this chapter of the dragons’ stories. Joel Leslie does a marvelous job bring the characters to life.

Honestly, the subject matter was too much for me.Stephan's anxiety and paranoia was A LOT. I am fully aware that doesn't mean it wasn't a good book. I finished it only because it was the last in the series so I recognize the wonderful writing and fabulous story telling of the author.

📖 Story comment: The characters are entertaining and the plot was interesting.
What I call an easy listen ... wasn't too complicated so could listen while doing something without losing track of the story.

Enjoyed Steffen and Wil's story. Steffen's paranoia was well written (with no magic "fix") and Wil's grounding understanding and supportive presence was a perfect fit.
As far as a series ending goes, overall it was a little disappointing, there are elements that feel "unfinished".

🎧 Narrator comment: Joel Leslie is a master voice actor and suits the personalities of these characters. He has good cadence, inflections and intonations, he's kept the consistency of characters voices throughout the multiple series so it's easy to distinguish all the characters from each other and he's done a stellar performance bringing this book to life.

I absolutely love this story! The beautiful way the paranoia is portrayed is absolutely perfect. Imagine a secret being held for over 4,000 years. I can’t say any more without spoiling the story. Suffice it to say that this is a fabulous story! Joel Leslie does a great job, but in this story it is really hard to tell Wil and Stephan apart just by listening. Joel is very good at keeping the other characters separate. He continues the fantastic voices of all the characters from before- Alistair, David, Percy, Sam, Dustin, Gideon, Brandt, and all the other characters from CSG and the DEA. So many characters- like wrapping yourself in a big hug from good friends!

This book is an emotional roller-coaster. My poor sweet baby Steffen. 😭
I love that he has Wil and a found family. He's so sweet. I love how protective he is of everyone he loves. I love that others finally recognize that and appreciate him.
I love this series. I hope there will be more.
I listened to the audiobook and followed along reading the ebook. Joel Leslie is an amazing narrator.

I absofreakinglutely loved it!

Such a perfect ending and some things I did not see coming so I was pleasantly surprised.

Highly recommend but you must start with Demons Do It Better for it all to make sense.
