I really enjoyed this audiobook. The subject was fascinating and very appliable. The narrator did a good job of keeping you interested in a subject that could have been boring. My only complaint was with the sound between chapters. I listened to part of the book with earphones on and the music between chapters was too loud.

fascinating look into personalities

It was an testing take on the Myers–Briggs personality types. I really enjoyed hearing about the different types and I can see how these types apply to myself and others around me. Knowing what makes people tick will defiantly give me an edge in dealing with difficult people in my life.

I have terrible hearing so sometimes audio books can be difficult for me. Hearing this book was a pleasure. The book was read well, clear and easy on my ears. The narration was very well done. I didn't loose focus and zone out as I sometimes do with audiobooks.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in advancing their interpersonal communication skills.

An interesting take on the Myers–Briggs Types

Very interesting

Bad title! The title to me seemed to indicate some unique gift or paranormalish ability to read the motivation and intent of someone else. But, the real takeaway from this book is its explanation of the personality types as derived from the Meyers Briggs personality test and some good explanation as to how that information can be understood in real world interpretations of other people. So if you're a team builder at your place of employment, or you are trying to make sense of a relationship or it's potential, then this book is for you!

Would you listen to Analyze People again? Why?

There is so much information in this book that I had to listen to it more than once.

What did you like best about this story?

I like how behaviors and different personality types were broken down. It helps to understand people and how they act in certain situations.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was difficult. I listened to this with earbuds while I was working and I could hear a lot of mistakes and how it sounded pieced together. The sound fluctuated a lot and the music between chapters was very annoying. It seemed louder than the narration. If it wasn't for those things, I wouldn't have had a problem with the narration. I would listen to this narrator again.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I found this book very interesting and despite the issues I had with the narration, the information was very good and well worth my time.

This book had less to do with analyzing people and more to do with the MTBI and making first impressions. Most of it was on explaining the MTBI personality types and didn't actually get into anything about analyzing people until the last hour-ish. Tons of errors and quality issues. Parts of the recording repeated. Overall not that great for me.

Needs a different title

I received a review copy of this audiobook.

This book is not really how to analyze people. It is a lot more to do with how to improve yourself than how to understand others. While this is interesting and useful, it is not what I wanted in this book.

The four longest chapters explain the 16 Myers-Briggs Personality Types. I would rather call this section”How to Categorize People.” It gives no help identifying others in these traits, only describing each personality type in the most positive terms possible. A reference to a link in the resource section of the book is retained, but the resource section is not included in the audiobook, nor is there an accompanying PDF of this section.

Next comes a section on how to improve yourself, suggesting how others might perceive you based on various behaviors and body language. This could be used to analyze others, though less directly, and it is clear that it is intended to work on the reader, not to help understand others.

Last comes a section on identifying liars, charlatans, and sociopaths. These are good and useful chapters as well, but not what the title or subtitle of this book advertise.

I don’t actually have a problem with the performance per se, but the editing is noticeably bad at a number of places. Most notably, at approximately 12 minutes and 24 seconds on into chapter 8 of 22, the narrator flubs a word, stops, and then you can hear a clap board before she resumes editing. Two other places that I noticed she repeats roughly a paragraph of text at a time.

Ultimately, if the bucket had a different title, I might’ve read it and enjoyed it and not had a problem. Given that it advertised a topic I’m extremely interested in and did not deliver on this premise, I am extremely disappointed.
