One stolen painting. Two gentlemen at cross-purposes. And a love that complicates everything...
When his sister's treasured painting vanishes from Pemberley, Fitzwilliam Darcy will stop at nothing to hunt it down. But his well-meaning cousin has other plans—dragging a furious Darcy away from his most promising lead and into the countryside "for his own good."
Peace proves impossible when he encounters Elizabeth Bennet, a fiercely independent young woman with a sharp wit, a knack for humor, and a dog with more enthusiasm than sense.
Just as Darcy's heart begins to paint a future with Elizabeth, he spots the missing masterpiece in the most inconvenient place imaginable. Now, caught between stubborn fathers, country scandals, and his own growing feelings, Darcy must find a way to keep his promise without losing the woman who's stolen his heart.
Who knew one painting could threaten both his sister's happiness and the greatest love he's ever known?
A witty, romantic escapade full of hidden clues, tangled hearts, and unexpected love. Perfect for fans of heartwarming mischief, charm, and reluctant heroes.
An (Un)believably Artful Theft is a light-hearted, sweet Regency romance inspired by Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice.

Art and dogs that steal the story

Jennifer’s super talent for lively dialogue always satisfies and delights me. The teasing among Darcy, Colonel Fitzwilliam (Richard), and Georgiana had me laughing out loud, but she also doesn’t neglect the solemn moments regarding Georgiana’s past error that demand a more serious tone.
And then there were the animals! Remy and Archie, two lively dogs that belong to Elizabeth and Bingley, respectively, and Jemima the duck (from a previous novel, Dangerous When Wet) added even more joy with their diverting antics, often stealing the spotlight in the best possible way.
Caroline Bingley’s role as the villain in this plot didn’t disappoint, either. Her comeuppance and just desserts was served up by someone you might not expect—I wanted to shout “Booyah”!
I believe this is the last book in the Loves Little Helpers series, and I feel like it’s hard to say goodbye, and like all the others, this book left me with a smile and that happy, full-hearted feeling of a story well-told. I also know that whatever Jennifer Joy serves up next will also be worthwhile reading. I can’t wait to see what she’ll delight us with next. If you haven’t yet read the books in this series of stand-alone books, I highly recommend them all. I guarantee you’ll have difficulty choosing a favourite!
