The witches of Coventry are all on edge when the crew of a famous ghost hunting show arrives in town. Coventry has been good at hiding its secrets from the world for hundreds of years, but in the deep dark corners of the web, whispers of a town full of witches and ghosts circulate among those who are true believers of the paranormal.
When it's decided that denying them a filming permit would just make them more suspicious, Brighton is elected by the town council to be their official Coventry escort. Her job is to ensure they don't catch any convincing evidence of the paranormal and hopefully make them so bored they decide to cut the town from their show's schedule.
But, this is Coventry we're talking about. When one of the film crew turns up dead at Hangman's House after a night of paranormal investigation, Brighton is once again forced to get involved.
Oh, and Thorn's in trouble too. He's in hot water in more ways than one. He'll need Brighton's help to save his bacon from the frying pan, but will he really break her heart?

When it comes to men, Brighton continues to make poor choices over and over again, she never seems to learn from her past experiences. So very Frustrating!
She is her worst enemy in life. An example, she was ask to meet some of the filmmaking crew in a deep, dark part of her basement. She decided not to wait a minute for Merri to use his litterbox, so Merri could accompany her into the basement, Brighton decides to go by herself. Just one of MANY poor choices on her part.
I think the author, Rebecca Mitchell, relies too much on Brighton's poor, unhinged decision-making, to get her into trouble, instead of being a more creative writer and coming up with more innovative ideas for Brighton's many challenges.
And, there was a part where two Merri the cats appeared. Brighton was sent out of the house for the real Merri to fix this. It was never explained how he did so, or why there were two of him. Listeners had to wonder if she was speaking to the real Merri when she returned into her house. Weird!
All in all these are cute stories with great potential that could be much better written! Hoping the author reads my review..
Brighton thinks like a teenager!
