Very very slow to start

I know this is a classic for a huge population of people.
And the last 1/4 was good.
But the first 1/4 drug and drug and drug. I came close to putting it down dozens of times.
So much more could have been added to make the villain more than he was.

Another 5 stars Jim

Forget the hate in the ratings.
This was a great story read by Jim.
Given, I’d love a Dresden book every year or two but I’ll take what I can get without jim getting burned out and hating Harry.
I would love to see Harry and it’s world go for another 20 years , it’s a fantastic world and only gets better the older Jim gets!
Harry grows and changes as Jim grows in his writing, it’s a fantastic world with depth (not just popcorn novels imo)
It gave me a taste of Dresden in the middle of a 4-5 year Dresden dry spell, what more could I ask for.

Finally

Finally Racheal is getting some claws.
Her magic is starting to feel like it’s leveling up.
I feel like I’ve waited years for Racheal to finally become somewhat proficient in magic.
She is a demon , she has a teacher , but can’t sling one lick of battle magic, just shoots sleepy time charms.
She can’t even change her clothes, she’s a girl and your telling me the first thing she didn’t beg to learn was how to change clothes on demand???
Give this girl sharper magical claws!!
It’s been 15+ books and almost 20 years…. Come on!!!
Trent is all but a elven warlord with magic now why not Rachel ?

This was the best book in the series, imo each book gets better and better.
And I’m looking foreword to the new one.
