The Hunting Wives by May Cobb is a well written mystery thriller with a great plot twist at the end. I can’t say that I really liked any of the main female characters but that’s not necessarily bad. The element that most intrigued me was the mystery and I couldn’t guess who dunnit, so that’s always a win in my book!

The Call of the Wild by Jack London is better today than it was when I was younger. I’ve read it several times over the years but this is the first time listening to an audio of it. I listened to the version narrated by Roger Dressler and quite enjoyed it, as I listened in one sitting. One of the things I love about this story is that our narrator in the story is Buck, a Saint Bernard/shepard mix, I believe it gives us a unique perspective and insight into his world that we otherwise wouldn’t see if the story was told from a human perspective. I would recommend this as it is a classic however, just know there is animal cruelty.

The Roses of May (The Collector Book Two) by Dot Hutchison is a fast paced dark thriller with a wonderful cast of characters. What I like about this series is that the books are well written and thought out and her female leads are strong and fierce and the good male leads support them. I’m looking forward to the next book.

In the Midnight Rain by Barbara O’Neal is a beautiful story of lives intersected in unexpected ways. This is an interesting story that has some good surprises and a good ending as well. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator.

The Butterfly Garden(The Collector Book One) by Dot Hutchison is terrifying and heartbreaking with a cast of characters who didn’t know they had the grit to take on monsters and either live or die trying. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrators. The book itself has TW such as rape, physical violence, murder, and suicide.

Baby X by Kira Peikoff is one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read lately with the biggest twist! It’s a mystery thriller that’s set it in the future and deals heavily with genetics and all the moral implications that surrounds altering of DNA and taking DNA from others. This was told from three MC’s perspectives and it kept me listening late into the night. It will keep you guessing till the end!

Sadie by Courtney Summers is such a hard and heartbreaking story of teenage sisters who never really caught a break in life. I really loved that this author threw out the “rules” when she wrote this book! The format is what you would expect as far as alternating POV’s but what’s unique is that one is the MFC, Sadie and the other is a podcaster named, West. In West’s POV he conducts interviews and so what’s told there is all from each of the interviewees perspectives. The author also did not tie up everything into a nice neat little bow at the end. I for one am happy when that happens sometimes because life doesn’t always end with a HEA, that’s just reality. I read the book along with listening to the audiobook and I really loved all of the different narrators, as well as the Serial-like music that was played. This is a good mystery with some very dark elements and some harsh realities.

The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan is written really well and performed well by Kimberly Farr, Tanis Parenteau, Emily Lawrence, Brittany Pressley and Cassandra Campbell. What started out as a good mystery in the first quarter of the story ended up going off in a few different directions and frankly I lost interest a few times and almost didn’t finish but I don’t do that! The story got back on track in the last quarter and I enjoyed the the ending for the MC. Overall, I enjoyed the writing and the performance but I did get bored with some of the rants and tangents.

My Brother’s Grumpy Best Friend written by Abby Greyson and narrated by Zach Young and Lexi Balter is so good! Rosaline and Archer have always cared for each other but just haven’t expressed it. When Archer shows up to Rosaline’s brother’s wedding they finally have a chance. I love the strong FMC that Rosaline is and the vulnerability that the MMC shows. Abby touches on serious subjects yet keeps it light enough. I definitely recommend this book for a clean romance with a HEA. The narrators did a great job keeping the whole story interesting without the sound becoming monotonous or boring. I really enjoyed them!

Feel The Rhythm by Marie Soleil is book number two of the Canyon Cove series, it can be read as a standalone however you may miss some of the characters juicy backstories. Either way you don’t want to miss this sweet romance that teaches important life lessons while making our hearts skip a beat. Ivy and Adam want to tell Amy, Ivy’s best friend and Adam’s sister, about their relationship but the timing never seems right. And to top it off Ivy is dealing with lots of other issues that may threaten their relationship before it truly takes off. In true Marie fashion, this is another sweet romance with a bunch of memorable characters, most of whom we’ve met before. She gives us some important lessons along the way to a HEA. Recommend for best friends brother, secret relationship, no spice, only kisses with a HEA. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Aricka Parent. I quite enjoyed her voice inflections as she did a great job with each of the characters. Definitely recommend.
