A gripping ending to this series
Revisado: 03-12-25
I love this series as a whole, and Tale of the Heart Queen was a great conclusion to the story. Nadir and Lor’s journey has been incredible to follow, and I was so invested in them—I truly wanted things to work out for them. This book had so many twists and turns, and the finale was epic. I also loved the strong found family aspect, and the ending felt like the best possible way to wrap up the series.
That said, this book was much more plot-heavy than the previous ones, which made me feel less connected to the characters at times. Fate of the Sun King was my favorite because it felt so focused on their relationship, whereas here there was so much happening that the emotional depth between them didn’t hit quite as hard for me. The book was also significantly longer, and while I understand why with so many storylines needing to be wrapped up, I did feel like certain sections could have been trimmed without losing anything essential.
Still, I truly enjoyed this finale, and Lor remains such an incredible FMC. The journey throughout this series has been unforgettable, and while I wish this book had been slightly more character-driven, it was a satisfying, action-packed conclusion to an amazing series.

Love this cowboy romance
Revisado: 10-24-24
This was a fun read, not too heavy on plot or depth, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had previously read Wolfe by Paisley Hope and was expecting something more like that but this was a sweet cowboy romance with an ex hockey player and his best friends’ little sister. The spice and the way Nash takes care of CeCe were great. Definitely a small town/cowboy romance worth reading.

Historia
My first day in Montana, I got into a tug-of-war over a grocery store shopping cart. The most handsome man I’d ever seen broke up the scuffle before he asked me on a date. I was seconds away from accepting but then he told me his name. As an owner of the Haven River Ranch, Jax Haven wasn’t my boss. But he wasn’t not my boss either. Obviously, my only option was to turn him down, scurry away, then pretend like he was a stranger on my first day of work. And obviously, I could never, ever admit that he was my secret crush.

Small town romance
Revisado: 10-24-24
I enjoyed Sunlight but not as much as Crossroads. There were many time jumps in this book where we fast forwarded a couple of weeks or months and I feel like because of that we missed out on so many developmental moments of Jax and Sasha’s relationship, which were later told to us instead. Although I think it is a slower burn, it also seems like there is an Instalove attraction between both of them and we never really dive into why they’re both so immediately attracted and drawn to each other asides from their looks.
What I do love about this series is the Haven River Ranch setting of this beautiful ranch resort, so I’m excited to revisit this destination whenever the next book comes out.
The audiobook narration was decent but the male narrator made me cringe a little at times.

Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Such a fun listen
Revisado: 10-15-24
Lights Out is such a fun, almost lighthearted read with a bit of darkness. I’ve seen it compared to Butcher and Blackbird, but honestly, other than both being funny and having some murder, they’re really different. I didn’t enjoy Butcher and Blackbird because the gore was too much for me, but Lights Out felt way more like a dark romcom, with lower stakes and lots of humor.
The premise of Josh being a masked man making social media thirst traps is hilarious, but it totally works. I loved how hard he falls for Aly and how sweet and funny he is—especially his jokes about Fred the cat. The narrators did such a great job bringing the humor to life, and I thoroughly enjoyed the listening experience. If you’re a romcom fan like me and want to try a lighter dark romance, this is a great place to start.

Historia
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard.

A sweet slow burn romance
Revisado: 10-14-24
Another great slow burn from Mariana Zapata! This one was missing some of the banter that I really enjoyed from her other books, but I loved the little family unit that Diana, Dallas, Josh and Louie create. It’s incredibly sweet.

Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

A fun, sexy time
Revisado: 10-14-24
While I enjoyed myself, this was my least favorite of Ali Hazelwood’s STEM romances. There was less plot and more spice than her other books, and I just didn’t feel as much of an emotional connection between the two characters. It was still a fun read!

I liked it but this also made me feel ill
Revisado: 10-14-24
I can see why this is so popular, but I unfortunately did not seem to enjoy this as much as everyone else. I listened to this on audible which I think actually saved this book for me because the performance was great. The premise and plot of the book are unique and it’s funny and sexy at times. However, the serial killer parts actually made me feel a bit queasy (especially the accidental cannibalism part) and I’ve watched gory shows/movies but something about how much the gore was described really got to me. I also didn’t really feel the emotional connection between the two characters.

I loved this more than I thought I would, as I know absolutely nothing about chess. This was such a fun and witty read! And for a YA book, it did not feel that young at all.

- De Anonymous User en 08-14-22
Completely heartbreaking in the best way
Revisado: 10-14-24
This book was beautiful and incredibly painful to read but I loved it. Jamie and B’s story was filled with so many missed moments, misunderstandings and miscommunication which were devastating to read. I honestly could not put this book down - there is so much angst, tension and incredible chemistry. The characters are pretty infuriating at times but I think that makes this story more raw and real because both characters are flawed. And Kandi Steiner’s writing made me feel their heartbreak each time it happened viscerally. I also loved the metaphor of Jamie being like whiskey which was used throughout the book - it really portrayed how all consuming their love for each other was. I would definitely pick this up if you’re ready to be wrecked emotionally.

Historia
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

So tender and angsty
Revisado: 10-14-24
I adored this book. The childhood friends to lovers to strangers and then back to lovers is a trope I’ll always love. This was so emotional and filled with so much longing. I ugly cried. But I’m sorry, what was with the ending? It all got wrapped up in like 4 pages. I needed more from them. Also, I just wanted a bit more of them being happy and communicating more after that big bombshell was dropped at the end.
