King and country. No matter the cost. With the backing of his uncle, General Penrod Ballantyne, young Leon Courtney joins the King's Rifles of Nairobi. When he becomes discouraged by the dishonesty of army life, his uncle recruits him for a special mission - spying on the Germans in East Africa, whom the General suspects are preparing for the Kaiser's war. Posing as a professional game hunter, Leon is tasked with gathering information on one of his clients, wealthy industrialist Otto Von Meerbach.

Information every American should hear

Fundamental principals on how to approach money and wealth, and take care of one’s personal finances without being drawn into the consumer American lifestyle. Great read, numbers are now a little dated but the principals remain the same.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

Great book, best reader ever
Revisado: 10-31-18
This is a very long, very good book full of small details and complete visuals that make the book alive and real. The back and forth style is very engaging and I was never bored with this novel. However, the real star of the show is Steven Weber - fantastic reading doing all of the voices and adjusting for speed and volume. Somehow he even nails the tough lines that are described only after the line is spoken. Well practiced and rehearsed and performed, would recommend.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Entertaining with good points
Revisado: 07-27-17
You have to make it past the first chapter to get to the actual message, the first bit is pure entertainment and not for the faint of heart. The author has some really good bits of advice that when applied correctly can lead to a much happier life (can verify from experience). The main message is this: you need to be better at knowing what to care about vs what to not give a fuck about if you want to be happy.

Historia
In this eye-opening account, Cal Newport debunks the long-held belief that "follow your passion" is good advice. Not only is the cliché flawed - preexisting passions are rare and have little to do with how most people end up loving their work - but it can also be dangerous, leading to anxiety and chronic job hopping. After making his case against passion, Newport sets out on a quest to discover the reality of how people end up loving what they do.

Great advice and engaging reader
Revisado: 06-29-17
I wish I had heard this book ten years ago when I before I started college. This book explores many successful people and explains how happiness at work and success go hand in hand, many of these I've had to struggle to learn through experience and others I had not yet discovered. Very good book for anyone trying to find their passion in life - it will change the way you think about your passion and give a good roadmap to be on your way with the right mindset to get you there.

Historia
In the best-selling tradition of Truman, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer David Herbert Donald offers a new classic in American history and biography - a masterly account of how one man's extraordinary political acumen steered the Union to victory in the Civil War, and of how his soaring rhetoric gave meaning to that agonizing struggle for nationhood and equality.

This book has so many quotes and cross references, very well written. Well read. It gives a lot of insights to what life was like in that day and really dives into Lincoln's thoughts and reasoning from his writings and people close to him.
