It’s almost unbelievable that the technology mentioned in these novels actually exists Charles Levin has used this to create an “edge of your seat” series that takes place at breakneck speed The narrator was excellent with his many foreign pronunciations and the pace he used to tell the stories. I appreciated Levin’s after story notes as they gave additional insight into the novels. If you like thoughtful adventure, suspense and intrigue, don’t miss this excellently narrated trilogy.

This is a nice, quick, cozy mystery. The only distraction was the number of times "said" was used which probably wouldn't have been apparent just reading the book. It also seemed that Summer recovered a bit too quickly from Marley's murder. All in all, it was a pleasant way to spend an hour.

Roger Liles obviously did a lot of research on how the tunnel was built. While it was interesting, it was also slow at times. All the politics involved was also fascinating as was the turmoil experienced by people on both sides of the wall. I was distracted by the Daniel Purcell when he was voicing the main character. All of his sentences seemed to end on an up note as if he were asking a question. With that said, it is still a book worth listening to.

Loving Riley, the second book in the Celebrity Series, is a little darker than Loving Ashe. The characters are real, flawed, and made mistakes but tried to redeem themselves. There was family angst, jealousy, past secrets, and revenge, but mostly love. Gareth really showed growth of character in this story and I can’t wait for his own book. Piper, Catronia, and Collette all provided secondary stories as did Sid, Ashe’s boyhood friends, and his parents. Meeting them helped explain how Ashe became the man he is today. I loved Martin John Hopkins accent which helped sustain the mood of the story

Mason’s Missing is the beginning of a new series from Teresa Burrell and one you won’t want to miss. The series revolves around Tuper (Montana cowboy investigator who uses his skills, instincts and people knowledge) and Lana (young computer hacker), and how their relationship develops and helps solve his case. John Bell had me hooked from the start with his interpretation of Tuper. Great start to a new series with an unpredictable ending. Be sure to check out Teresa’s Advocate series, too.

The Advocate’s Homicides deals with children who have failed to be protected by the justice system and some failures that should never have happened. As usual, there is interaction between Sabra and Bob which help the reader understand the actions of the judge and his rulings. The narrator, John Bell, does a great of bringing the characters to life while waiting to find out who is framing the kids for murder. This is another great addition to Teresa’s Advocate series.

Not So Gone is the second book in the Sam Sunborn series which pairs a mystery with technology and science fiction. Since I had not read Not So Dead, and with the sci-fi component, I was not sure I would like the story about someone leaving the physical world and living in the digital world of the cloud. But the fast-paced story filled with complex characters and twists and turns had me hooked. The narrator, Daniel Greenberg, brought the characters to life. Even if sci-fi is not your genre, give this story a chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised

The Abuse Trilogy contains three books dealing with child abuse and all the psychological aspects it causes. It’s informative, well written, and woven into a fictional story filled with sex, lust, mystery, and suspense. I loved how Nikki knows how to use the right words to describe something so terrible. It’s not sugarcoated but it is respectful of the abused victims. She uses the right balance between erotic, funny, enlightening, and suspenseful. And then there’s Andre Chevalier (Catnip to women). Even though it’s more about Renata and Grant than him in these books (although they did explain some of Andre’s background), it’s always a pleasure when he makes an appearance. The narrator, Roberto Scarlato, did a good job with the genders and accents and made the story come alive. Great job, Nikki, on a difficult topic.

Guarded Prognosis is a Christian mystery written by Dr. Richard Mabry. That being said, it is neither preachy nor inundated with medical terms. It is about a father and son, two stubborn doctors, and the emotional issues neither wants to discuss as well as their relationships with their wives. It has a bit of everything: doctors, mystery, DEA agents, suspense, twists, and red herrings. Bill Nevitt, the narrator, brought the book to life injecting emotion while clearly differentiating between the male and female voices, and adding to the enjoyment of the story.
