Historia
Fourteen-year-old Zach Davidson’s burden of being abandoned by his father and raised by a single mother juggling three jobs weighed constantly on his mind. Growing up as a late bloomer, black, and bisexual in a predominantly white, rural Utah town only amplified his struggles—until he got abducted by aliens. Then things got crazy. One evening at Blue Lake, Zach and his friends Wilkie, Jeff, and Liza vanish after witnessing UFOs in Utah’s West Desert. They awake in an arid wilderness over two hundred miles away, devoid of any memory of their abduction or how they got there—except for...

AI isn’t my favorite narrator but it’s getting better. The story is very intriguing and I’ll be looking forward to the next volume in the series.

Revisado: 04-29-23
Have read the book, seen the film, etc. I wasn’t surprised by anything in the book, but I didn’t notice the book was read by Scott Brick until after I downloaded it. There are a lot of great readers on Audible, but Mr Brick is probably one of my favorites. I’ve listened to many of his narrations, but this is the first that has required accents. He nailed it.

Great insights into a familiar story
Revisado: 03-29-23
Have lived in Utah and gone to school with several members of the Smart family, I’ve always been interested in this story. This version provides a rich background and context for what her family went through. I also greatly appreciated the insights into humanity and human relationships that came from the parallel experience with Baker Paxton. Our judgement and treatment of others would be much better if we knew their stories.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Excellent production
Revisado: 09-12-22
To be honest, some Audible Originals stink pretty badly. This one, however, was awesome. The was fun, entertaining, and thought provoking. Billy Crystal’s genius is clear in the writing. The cast was fantastic. I listen to a lot classic radio dramas and this was one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. Loved it.

Great course.
Revisado: 02-17-22
This is a fascinating lecture series for Catholic and non-Catholic alike (I’m of the non-Catholic persuasion). The popes are part of world history no matter what your religious feeling. I appreciated the expertise and fairness of Father O’Malley. He wasn’t trying to preach or convert to Catholicism, but gave the institution a fair historical coverage, including both positive and negative aspects.

Fun to get to know the brothers better.
Revisado: 11-17-21
My only complaint about the book is the language in a few spots(fortunately not too many). I may be old fashioned but I’ve never heard a single sentence in English that was enhanced by an f-bomb that couldn’t have been expressed equally powerfully, especially by someone as eloquent as one of the Howard brothers, with other word choices. It’s a little hard to hear vulgar language in Ritchie Cunningham’s voice.

Historia
A soul-stirring biography of John Marshall, the young Republic's great chief justice who led the Supreme Court to power and brought law and order to the nation. In the political turmoil that convulsed America after George Washington's death, the surviving Founding Fathers went mad - literally pummeling each other in Congress and challenging one another to deadly duels in their quest for power. Out of the political intrigue, one man emerged to restore calm and dignity to the government: John Marshall.

Unger isn’t the least biased biographer
Revisado: 11-13-21
It’s a very interesting history of an important jurist. But Mr Unger treated Aaron Burr as an unsung hero and Thomas Jefferson as a traitor. I think real history recognizes both their flaws and their contributions.

Historia
Although the framers gave the president little authority, Washington knew whatever he did would set precedents for generations of his successors. To ensure their ability to defend the nation, he simply ignored the Constitution when he thought it necessary and reshaped the presidency into what James Madison called a "monarchical presidency." Modern scholars call it the "imperial presidency."

Great Listen
Revisado: 10-11-21
I’ve listened to several historical biographies by Unger, and honestly I don’t think he’s my favorite, but he exceeded my expectations with this one. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. His analysis of Washington’s impact on the shaping of the presidency was insightful and informative. Great book for anyone interested in Washington, the Presidency, or Revolutionary figures.
