Historia
Forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta has just inherited one of the most notorious cases of her career. Two years ago, a former beauty queen's body washed up on the shore of Wallops Island, Virginia. She was last seen on a boat with her fiancé, who has since been held in jail while awaiting trial. Scarpetta must act as the expert witness for the case—an investigation previously botched by another forensic pathologist. After a gruelling cross-examination by the prosecutor, Scarpetta leaves the court only to discover that the sister of the judge on her case has been found dead.

Some poetic license used with the technicalities but a great read nonetheless. Looking forward to the next one already.

Excellent - Until the very end.
Revisado: 12-28-21
I found this book enormously enjoyable - right up until the very last moment. The book finished so abruptly that I initially thought that there must be a second part. Everything was eventually explained in the epilogue but the conclusion really felt rushed and was a big disappointment. That said, I eagerly await the next installment.

Excellent content. Strangely edited.
Revisado: 08-21-18
The actual content was brilliant. The presentation was a bit weird though with strange jumps and non-sequiturs making it sound like you're often listening to the same bits over and again - but it all works itself out in the end.

An excellent listen.
Revisado: 01-31-18
A really good story and enjoyable all the way through. The ending is a little bit disappointing and some of the voices seemed a bit OTT (especially at the start) but other than these minor niggles I found the book really entertaining.

A bit strange in places but very entertaining
Revisado: 05-16-15
Some strange turns in the plot, a few unanswered loose ends and the narrator's Scottish and English accents are hilarious but very entertaining for all that. Recommended.

A fantastic book to kill long car journeys. Excellent story and excellent narrator. Please can we have the earlier Frost books in unabridged form read by Stephen Thorne?
