Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Interesting thought provoking insights
Revisado: 03-18-25
Wow, Malcolm’s curious mind is a marvel. His observation that there is an 800 number comment phone line listed on Ivory bar soap packages is the kind of detail that boggles the mind. I am now looking “maven traps” everywhere.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

sophisticated narrative craft
Revisado: 03-03-25
The sophisticated narrative craft used to communicate and exemplify a complex idea at different scales from different perspectives using various tools is impressive. A particular style of story telling that the author continues to hone into a critical thinking instruction manual. Brilliant

His endorsement led me to this book. This book and other resources from the authors are now my road map to optimal health until my diagnostic results indicate otherwise.

A conversation at a bar with a real life utility commissioner yielded the recommendation for reading this fictional water crisis book. It is action packed with vivid characters. I read very little fiction these days. This book reminded me of just how juicy a good page turner can be.
