Not Classic King but that might be a good thing.

Like my review says this is not classic King. If you are looking for Night Shift or Skelton Crew type stories you will be disappointed. What you will get is a mix of stories and in my opinion,one really great novella. Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream is, in my opinion, the best story here and I highly enjoyed it. If you liked stories like Joyland or the Colorado kid then I think you will enjoy Dannys story. The others are good and all were a joy to listen to.
As much as I enjoy early King stories I enjoy these new stories and im glad he is evolving in his writing instead of just writing the same ol same ol.
I hope you find this review helpful and if you are on the fence about getting this book you should give it try even if its just for Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream.

Good story with So-So delivery.

I bought these books when they first came out. There are three of them. No idea why they did book two. Hopefully they do the other two books. It’s a fun story. Virtual voice would not be my first choice to narrate. A flat delivery. No voice changes to distinguish between who's speaking could be confusing in some spots. Especially if this is your first time with this book. Overall a good story with so-so delivery. I would recommend this book. Hopefully they do books 1 and 3.

Great Story.

I almost passed this up because of the bad reviews on the reader. I found Amy to be a very good reader. I had no issues with her. She does not do male voices well but she tries, and that did not distract me from the story. If your deciding to try out this audio I suggest you listen to the sample.
A great story and it wont cost you a credit if your a member.

A new favorite.

Paul Sparks does a good job at reading this book. I had no problems following along with the story and did not find that his reading of this book took anything away from how awesome it is.
I cannot say I like everything King has written and his last Novel that I really enjoyed was Dr.Sleep.
The Mercedes series were good and If It Bleeds , Joyland and Later were also good,as was Gweny. But I did not care for the other novels since Dr.Sleep. I tell you this so you can see if your likes of King books are close to mine.
Billy Summers is an awesome story and a great ride.
As King says in On Writing. Its always about the story.
This is a great story.

Another great story.

As with the Colorado Kid and Joyland. Later is a great story read by a voice that matches the story.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Kinda like an appetizer before the main course which will come later this year.

A return to the quality we expect from StarWars

If you were disappointed years ago when Star Wars ended the Expanded Universe books and have found everything,(Except for the Thrawn series), not like the old books. Then give this title a try. Marc Thompson is a master and he always puts his all into every narration. The story is entertaining and its refreshing to see its not aimed at teens. To many Cannon Star Wars books seem to me to be written for a younger audience. My favorite books besides the Thrawn series are the old republic books. And the Omen series and the Legacy series. Along with most of what is now known as the expanded universe books.
I enjoyed listening to this book and I highly recommend it to anybody who has given up on Star Wars books. I look forward to seeing what they do with this era and where they take it.
Side note if your reading this and your connected to starwars publishing. Please rethink allowing authors to play in the universe. Both cannon and expanded. It resulted in some of the best books ever written in this universe. Please invite Drew Karpyshyn to write more Star wars book. I enjoyed his books the most. Also the authors from the Omen and Legacy series books were top notch.
If you are still here sorry for the long post. Give this book a try. I was not disappointed. I don't think you will be either.

Not as good as book 1

I don't know what happened here but this book was no where near book 1. I just could not get into it. Instead of a continuation and moving forward everybody seems stuck in the events of book 1. It holds this book back.
Lets hope book 3 is better. I do like the characters and writer.

High level readers combined with one of the best novella storytellers is the reason I gave it 5 stars.

The best Star Wars book I’ve read or listen to since the Disney take over. Right up there with the new Thrawn books. Well written and the Narration was awesome. I had given up hope for Star Wars books and then theres two good books in a row. Dooku was good but Alphabet Squadron was better still. With a new Thrawn book comming up. Ive regained hope in the Star Wars novels. Lets hope it continues
