Over all I enjoy this quirky, fun little listen. It did make me laugh several times and was full of all kinds of random information. The AI narration (as much as I hate to say it, because I personally don't care for all of the AI, particularly when it's doing something that I'm sure could have been done by someone who would appreciate being paid for it) sounded pretty good. I don't know if it was the AI narration or the way the book was. I kind of feel like it was the narration. There were some pauses in there that made you think that your phone turned off or something. So timing could've been better. But overall, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to take a break from anything lol plus, who doesn't love a bit of useless information?!? It's way cooler than inaccurate information. I probably could have done without the part at the end where they explain why life is so weird but I know they had to wrap this thing up somehow so I'll forgive it. ;)

Wow. Just wow.
Revisado: 08-22-24
I have listened to many books by Jodi Picoult, I really enjoy her writing style and story lines. But THIS BOOK is by far the most riveting yet. I was completely lost to this story. Some characters were heartbreaking and beautiful when no one would have thought someone could be. Others were absolutely terrifying. I feel like I just had an emotional experience with this story. I couldn't have turned it off if I had to. I turned it off once for sleep, but otherwise it was on. I love that I ended this whole immense journey with a dropped jaw and a tear in my eye. I'm probably rambling, but this book takes you on a journey through a very important event in history that isn't easy for anyone to face let alone immerse themselves in. But this just took me through it in gut wrenching detail and so thoroughly that I could smell the smells and was also terrified, just to carefully remind me that nobody who didn't actually experience this horror first hand could begin to know anything about it. The reality is beyond human imagination. If that's not overwhelming idk what is. This story weaves an incredible journey through unimaginable things with hope, bravery and beauty. Then hits you right in the gut w a twist at the end that blows your mind. Thank you Jodi Picoult! That was awesome!

Historia
Lenny Marks is excellent at not having a life. She bikes home from work at exactly 4pm each day, buys the same groceries for the same meals every week, and owns thirty-six copies of The Hobbit (currently arranged by height). The closest thing she has to a friendship is playing Scrabble against an imaginary Monica Gellar while watching Friends reruns. And Lenny Marks is very, very good at not remembering what happened the day her mother and stepfather disappeared when she was still a child. The day a voice in the back of her mind started whispering, You did this.

Overall this was a fun listen. I definitely enjoyed the story line. I did start to zone out a time or two, but it still managed to surprise me in the end. If you’re looking for a good beach read I’d give it a go. If you’re looking to be fully immersed and riveted, I keep looking.

I don’t believe I possess the ability to convey in words the power of this book. I was completely lost in it. I could hear the bombs and feel the electricity in the air. I also had no idea this narrative existed until now. I hope this book reaches every reader in America and around the world. I’m just speechless. There aren’t enough stars

Revisado: 01-16-24
All the hype was true! That was an incredible story! I’m sad it’s over. And after 40 hours that’s saying something! The performance was perfect. I was so into it I was talking to the characters in some scenes. I barely do that during movies, let alone books! I highly recommend listening!

Dream and reality overlap in Divorcing, a book in which divorce is not just a question of a broken marriage but names a rift that runs right through the inner and outer worlds of Sophie Blind, its brilliant but desperate protagonist. It's a rift that encompasses not just forced exile and estrangement from her adopted country, but a profound rupture and alienation from her husband, her family, her Jewish identity, and her own fractured self. Can the rift be mended?

The writing style was brilliant
Revisado: 11-26-23
I don’t recall having read or listened to any other book that compares to the way this book is written. The dreams were captured in amazing clarity. They couldn’t have been more reminiscent of an actual dream. I really enjoyed this listen. The story was eerily similar to the authors probable attitude towards her own life. Just knowing how her life ended added a mildly haunting quality to the main character. So sad. I’m sure she would have had a huge following if she had continued living and writing.

Historia
When you listen to Lily and the Octopus, you will be taken on an unforgettable ride. The magic of this novel is in the listening, and we don't want to spoil it by giving away too many details. We can tell you that this is a story about that special someone: the one you trust, the one you can't live without. For Ted Flask, that someone special is his aging companion, Lily, who happens to be a dog.

Revisado: 09-17-23
Really touching story about a man and man’s best friend, his dog. If you have ever loved a dog and lost that dog, you will be balling too. This is a very sweet story about life and love. I love how sucked into the writing to the point I could picture every detail of their shared adventures and life together. It’s a beautiful escape.
