Historia
No one expected Barley to have an encounter with the Messiah. He was homeless, hungry, and struggling to survive in first-century Jerusalem. Most surprisingly, he was a dog. But through Barley's eyes, the story of a teacher from Galilee comes alive in a way we've never experienced before.

More than just a history book, and perhaps even a romance, this story of the beginnings of CLC International includes the very human, the comic, the daring, the unlikely, and the impossible, in this deadly serious work of taking Christ to the nations through the printed page.

I love Jesus and books and bookstores.
Revisado: 04-05-25
Fascinating history of the establishment and spread of the Christian Literary bookstore movement across all the world.
The virtual voice was not a distraction except occasionally pronounced something incorrectly.
I hear this often in virtual voice which doesn’t change the pronunciation of read (long e present tense) vs read (short e past tense) and live (short i verb) vs līve (long i adjective) because the algorithm still hasn’t developed to recognize grammatical context.

Very affecting true account of faith
Revisado: 03-31-25
Kent and Amber do an incredible job of bringing the listener into the story. The Ebola virus was a story happening when I was in my own health battle with Lyme disease and didn’t have television, so I was only vaguely aware that it had people in an uproar. Listening to this made me realize how truly awful the disease is and the devastation it caused in Africa.
I’m hoping to find a book detailing the development of the antibody treatment which sounds like a fascinating piece of history as well

Historia
In this short read, about 30 minutes, you will learn the amazing story of a tiny, fiery redhead, Mary Slessor, (1848-1915) from the slums of Dundee, Scotland. Mary's difficult childhood would serve her well as she braves the unknown and terrors of the African jungle. This is an inspiring story of how God mightily used a woman, who was totally sold out to HIM.

Historia
Amazing Grace tells the story of the remarkable life of the British abolitionist William Wilberforce (1759-1833). This accessible biography chronicles Wilberforce's extraordinary role as a human rights activist, cultural reformer, and member of Parliament. At the center of this heroic life was a passionate 20-year fight to abolish the British slave trade, a battle Wilberforce won in 1807, as well as efforts to abolish slavery itself in the British colonies.

IMHO good but not the best Wilberforce biography
Revisado: 03-03-25
I’m grateful that Eric Metaxas felt moved to reacquaint people of the 21st-century with the amazing character of William Wilberforce. He is indeed a brother in Christ and a world citizen, who should never be forgotten.
Because Eric Metaxas is such a renowned biographer, I was surprised that some of the tired cliché phrases that he chose to use.
He also made some analogies using what were then current events and people which are quickly fading into the past. Future readers of this biography will be puzzled and lose the meaning.
Overall, however, it is worthy of the time for the listener especially if it’s your first biography of Wilberforce.

Historia
When two Stanford graduate students set out to create a new kind of cigarette that wouldn’t kill them, they didn’t foresee all the obstacles that lay ahead — or the powerful forces their invention would unleash. Nearly 10 years after the launch of the JUUL, Backfired: The Vaping Wars asks: Could e-cigarettes have been the solution to one of the world’s most pressing public health problems—or was this technology doomed to introduce a whole new generation to nicotine, and end up perpetuating an intractable addiction?
