Hokey and full of holes
Revisado: 04-15-25
I was wary of the AI narration, but the writing was so basic and lacking, the narration didn't really make a difference. Maybe this author just needs more experience or a better editor, but I recommend skipping this one.

Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

So disappointing and unbelievable
Revisado: 01-16-24
The main character is a single woman working in the service industry, who was raised by a strong single working woman, Before this story begins, you find she had already been used by a boyfriend who stole her savings. But you are expected to believe this grown woman has no common sense or has learned any self-capability. The author describes the character as having learned antiquated phrasing and speech patterns, but it goes much deeper than an odd turn of phrase. If the intent was to lead the reader to determine the woman is on the autism spectrum, it should have been introduced with more background on what support she was given or was getting....she clearly has an uber-compulsion about cleaning and little skill at social clues. This could have been a good book...but was definitely not.

Had a hard time adjusting to the readers voice and cadence. The most excitement, used liberally, was the 8 chapters of crawling through garbage.

Historia
Her name is Renee Blackbear, but what most people call the 19-year-old Ojibwe woman is Cash. She lived all her life in Fargo, sister city to Minnesota’s Moorhead, just downriver from the Cities. She has one friend, the Sheriff Wheaton. He pulled her from her mother’s wrecked car when she was three. Since then, Cash navigated through foster homes and at 13 was working farms, driving trucks.

Incredible writing
Revisado: 10-09-23
The author is able to describe people, emotions and setting so clearly (and concisely) it's like being in the room watching the story unfold. One example that stuck out was when she described an entryway where coats were hung on farmer nails. It could have read - hung on the wall, or hung on hooks, or not mentioning anything about the entryway coats, but the use of farmer nails as a descriptor allowed me to visualize the farmhouse instantly. So many other examples - others I'm sure would ring true to readers with different backgrounds. As a former country girl from North Dakota, that one extra word to describe the nail immediately placed me in the house. I hope there are many many more books in this series.

The best twist and turns!
Revisado: 05-27-23
The story and performance were outstanding. I was hooked from the beginning and was lulled into the life of this married couple through letters written on their wedding anniversary. Then the little bombshell moments make you realize the actual story isn’t what you assumed at all! Excellent!

Revisado: 05-08-23
The story was rich with character relationships and humanity while the plot had plenty of twists and turns.
After just finishing a few audiobooks which had weak, clumsy dialog, this book was a joy. Wish you could have rated it 6 stars.

Revisado: 04-14-23
I’m m not sure if the narrator intended to fluctuate sound level so much or it was an issue with the sound equipment. There were several spots where I had to turn up the volume to hear clearly only to dash for the volume control when the voice rose in volume.

Historia
Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

Callie Dalton brought the well written characters to life
Revisado: 12-03-22
I purchased this based on the reviews and I’m so glad I did. I typically stick to mysteries and thrillers with the occasional horror. The Wall of Winnipeg was nothing I expected. I wouldn’t classify this as a Romance because the writing is so good. The dialogue is rich and witty and genuine, missing the cliches and shallow banter lesser writers would use. Initially intimidated by the length of the book, here I am, wishing the story wasn’t over.
