Historia
The Lord of Silver Stars is rising and his allies are rising with him! Sam's strength as an Astral Titan is greater than anything seen on Aster Fall since the First War shattered the world. He commands three armies and the fortress of Silverguard stands firm in the Void, but enemies surround him on every side. The Avatar of Blood stands inside the World Seal, an enemy whose strength is equal to the Titans of old. He holds Asenya in his grasp, the caretaker of Aster Fall.

Love this Story

This is one series that I can read or listen to over and over. This book in particular has been very satisfying, tying up a lot of loose ends.

Great progression of story and power in this book. The world building is excellent. I highly recommend it and the audiobook version. The narrator really adds to the experience.

Historia
Tyler Blackwood is definitely not making it to work on time. When he steps into the path of a speeding car, he’s whisked away by a flaming bird to a perilous realm of shapeshifters and magic straight out of ancient myth. He’d always wished for a chance to redo his life—but not like this. Immediately kidnapped by monsters, Tyler is rescued by Kalistratos, a ruggedly handsome rogue with the power to shift into a phoenix. Sticking by his savior’s side—even if Kalistratos wants nothing to do with him—is the only way he’s going to find a way back home. And it’s the only way ...

Decent story, completely flat narration
Revisado: 02-09-24
Story itself was just alright. Typical alpha/ omega story with a bit of isekai and fantasy thrown in. But I just couldn't figure out why the narration sounded so flat, especially in high tension scenes or high heat and romantic moments. Then at the end it said it was narrated with Virtual Voice, and it all made sense. I guess I can't complain because it was free with my membership, but seriously it's a big mistake to use AI to tell a romance story. It's super tough to become emotionally invested when everything sounds dull. It was like listening to a text book.

Historia
Before Davey came to work at Daddy’s Lap and began that crazy list of rules, his future bestie, Sammy, was already living happily ever after with his own Daddy-dom. From the moment they met over a gas pump to the day they were legally able to wed, leather Daddy Raphael Robustelli adored his linebacker-sized boy. This is their love story, as seen through a series of six short vignettes. Witness the moment they met, see the first time Davey came to the club, and so much more. This is a short 20k volume, filled with emotion and backstory for the entire series.

Beautiful but so sad
Revisado: 03-12-20
I loved hearing their stories of meeting and building a beautiful life together. It was also interesting to witness an unconventional Daddy/boy dynamic. I love hearing all the different ways people fit together. But it's all so bittersweet, knowing how it will end for them. Every time this series lingers on Sammy's loss, I end up bawling.

Historia
There's a dead man in Miki St. John's vintage Pontiac GTO, and he has no idea how it got there. After Miki survives the tragic accident that killed his best friend and the other members of their band, Sinner's Gin, all he wants is to hide from the world in the refurbished warehouse he bought before their last tour. But when the man who sexually abused him as a boy is killed and his remains are dumped in Miki's car, Miki fears death isn't done with him yet.

Decent story, but flowery language in sex scenes
Revisado: 12-20-19
The story was definitely interesting enough to capture my attention, and I like the characters. I didn't think there was perhaps much character development as it felt a bit like insta-love, and while they kept saying Miki was messed up and would have problems, that wasn't played out much in the story.
What did drive me nuts was the overly flowery, romanticized language used in sex scenes. One of the reasons I love the gay romance genre is that it either tends to be more raunchy or glosses over the sex scenes with more talk of emotional impact. The tendency in MF romance to talk about their "entrance" "shaft" or "sex" (in reference to anatomy), etc, and I can only hear that stuff so much before it drives me crazy. The sex scenes in this book sound exactly like a flowery straight romance, just substitute a girl for a bottom boy. In fact, bottoming and topping or being verse is never discussed, and 95% of it sounds so hetero that I cringed. The narrator doesn't help with that either, but he did match the tone set by the prose, so I can't really blame him.
Good thing that sex scenes are only part of what makes a good romance novel. I will definitely read on to the next books and enjoy it, but I'll be looking elsewhere for a sexy story.

Need a new narrator
Revisado: 03-06-19
Good story, very hot sex, and I need audiobooks so I can fit reading into my schedule. However, the narrator almost ruined it for me. Talks much too slow, some words mispronounced, and not enough change with different characters speaking or showing emotion and inflection. Ryan West is a perfect example of what a narrator should be, and this one is the other side of the scale. He'd be perfectly fine for some types of books, but romance needs emotion and passion.

A goddess returned, a war between primal powers, and a prophecy to fulfill. That's a lot of crap to heap on anyone's plate, much less a former game programmer from Brooklyn. But that's exactly what Bill Ryder - gamer, geek, and legendary vampire - has to deal with.
