Holy crap this was so good! I loved the narrator and the story. The dynamic is awesome and the characters are all interesting. I sorta saw the twist coming but it wasn’t exactly what I had expected!

Good story but the narration was eh

I enjoyed the story well enough, but the narration was almost painful. The female narrator was robotic sounding, almost like a computer reading out the text. The male narrator did the weirdest accents and they felt forced, it was sometimes difficult to understand what he was saying.

Couldn’t put it down (series review)

I went through the entire series in a 3 day span (can’t wait for book 5!!) The narration is awesome. The main character had me bursting out in laughter in the middle of Walmart. This series is so fun and still sexy. I’ve never read a romantic novel with such fun humor and dead pan sarcasm, it just totally works. I highly recommend the series.

Romance Review: The first 2 books are pretty tame and rely mostly on sexual tension/ frustration in the romance department. Book 3 and 4 are a bit more graphic and errr adventurous. Things go from pretty mild to wild real quick and you’ll be left saying “well, that escalated quickly”. If you’re only interested in 1on1 romantic relationships or if you have an issue with polyamory then this probably isn’t the series for you.

The perfect fairy tale ending to an epic book series. Of course I still kinda want more. Elizabeth Evans does an amazing job narrating!

Great start!

This book is a great start to a trilogy. It started out a little shaky and I had some difficulty following the initial storyline. Once I got into it though it became very intriguing. I’m a bit over the whole ‘trials to prove yourself’ storyline that authors just seem to love these days. In my opinion it wasn’t a totally necessary part of the story and is the reason I went with 4/5 stars. I just think there was an opportunity to do something a little more new and exciting there, I understand it helped with character development though. But even with that it was still a great story with some creative and refreshing twists. There are a few steamy scenes that I wouldn’t recommend for younger readers which I think brought this book more into the New Adult rather than YA category. I enjoyed that each chapter started with some piece of historical information, I thought it was a cool element that added to some of the mystery of the story. I will definitely be continuing with the Trilogy. (Also the narration was excellent)

Wow! This book is fantastic. The story is original and refreshing. The writing style is so unique and reminds me of old folk tales while still being fresh and new. I loved the subtle metaphors and found it to be such an engaging YA book. I couldn’t stop listening. I wasn’t sure at first about the choice to have a narrator with a strong accent, but as I listened I really LOVED that they made that decision. The narration totally opened up the story and really enhanced the whole listening experience and added to that ‘folk tale’ feeling. Truly a one of a kind and special story.

Enchanting

This is a fantastic young adult/ new adult fantasy book. I literally couldn’t stop listening. I thought the characters were intriguing. If you’re a fan of SJ Maas you’ll probably enjoy this series. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
