Actually want the main character to die.

If this had been the first book in the series, there is noway I would continue. 3/4 through the book and main character is still forgetting to bring the gun, still randomly checking out bouncing trucks out of ‘curiosity’ (without ANY weapons), everyone in the book has to save her constantly, to include the bad guy, and she supposed to be the heroine. About halfway through I wanted her to die so I can stop listening to her emotional rambles.

It’s like a scooby Doo cartoon with gore and politics.

Same old vampires/zombies/mad scientist etc. Absolutely nothing new or creative about the monsters. It’s like the author spent all his original thoughts trying to sneak in political, unnecessary hateful jabs into the storyline about cops, race, etc.

‘Freeze’, ‘Eat my Glock’, pow pow pow’ and ‘kapow’? Oh, and we shoot the bad guys in the legs! Was this written by a 9 year old? The main character is your stereotypical female cop that is trying too hard, over the top, unrealistic, and unreasonable. Super disappointed how unoriginal this was. I bought the 10 book series but only made it a short ways into the 2nd. So painful.

Incredibly slow book. Suffered through book 1 as the author was introducing the characters but hours into second book and nothing but repetitive lectures on water contamination. Couldn’t finish.
Narrator has one voice/inflection. Good luck figuring out who is who!
Very disappointed.

The story is good, there is zero personality in the narration.

I like the story. Pretty standard as far as zombie books go. But the narration is awful. It sounds like it’s narrated by a computer program. Very distracting and really takes away from the story itself. I hope the next book doesn’t have the same narrator, it’s not worth listening to if it is....
