Historia
A tangled Trask Brothers thriller you will want to read in one sitting. He knew. There was only a scrap of red material, but he knew. Don Trask, Lead Agent for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, had no doubt what it was. For five years he had locked away the haunting memories associated with his most difficult case, the unsolved disappearance of a small girl. But now those memories had burst from their vault, and the nightmares that came with them were back. And then there was another, a young boy, and Trask knew who had done it. The same man who had taken the girl. The same man...

Artificial Intelligence Reader is the worst!
Revisado: 07-03-24
This is the first AI Reader that I've heard and it is hopefully the LAST! The story line was excellent but when the reader says they called 9 hundred eleven instead of 911, just to mention only a few of the MANY slip ups, it's too much. There is no emotion to the reading. Just flat. I loved the story so much that I made myself finish it but I won't listen to another one that's read by AI.

Historia
From the creators of Root of Evil comes a new documentary series about the stories and family we can't escape. Jackee Taylor has been hidden in WITSEC, better known as the Witness Protection Program, for almost 40 years. But after a strange and violent incident reveals secrets about her past, Jackee begins a journey to find out the truth about herself, and her family. Hers is a twisted tale of darkness, murder, mystery, tragedy, and resilience, which traverses the country, and lands in the most violent era of one of the country’s most violent cities - 1970s Cleveland. At the heart of this ...

Excellent podcast... catches you immediately!
Revisado: 06-15-24
Easy to listen to and understand. Presented professionally and recordings are very easy to understand unlike some podcasts. Murders happened about 5 miles from our home. You never know who's living just down the road!

Historia
In the summer of 1985, a brilliant young British DNA scientist Helena Greenwood is found murdered in her front garden in a quiet suburb in California. The police believe they know the killer’s identity but there’s no evidence against him, and the only thing linking him to the crime is the fact he’d been charged with sexually assaulting Helena just a few months previously.

Music is distracting and there is no resolution.
Revisado: 03-19-24
I normally do not write reviews but this audible original was disappointing. The background music was very distracting but I thought I would hang in there because it seemed to be a good story line. Wrong! There is no ending...you never find out what happens to the guy only what she thinks. Does he die, does he get released, what?

Historia
Two weeks of rest and recuperation - that's what the doctor ordered. Detective Sergeant DC Smith could listen to some music, make some of his own, and maybe even catch up on his reading; he is almost looking forward to it. And then there is a knock on the door. It's only his next-door neighbor, but it is the beginning of a sequence of events that will bring him face to face with some of the darkest episodes and the most dangerous people from his own past.

Historia
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

Historia
When Marshall McEwan left his hometown at age 18, he vowed never to return. The trauma that drove him away ultimately spurred him to become one of the most successful journalists in Washington DC. But just as the political chaos in the nation’s capital lifts him to new heights, Marshall is forced to return home in spite of his boyhood vow. His father is dying, his mother is struggling to keep the family newspaper from failing, and the town is in the midst of an economic rebirth that might be built upon crimes that reach into the state capitol - and perhaps even to Washington.

Revisado: 03-19-19
The author could not help from bringing politics into every facet of this series of books. I won't be guilty of buying another book by this author. Porter is a favorite of my readers but I don't read fiction to be lectured on politics. A waste of 3 credits to buy the series.

Historia
Detective Tess McCrae investigates a grisly crime scene in the ghost town of Credo, Arizona. The evidence suggests a cartel drug hit. But Tess, with a nearly faultless photographic memory, sees what others might miss: This is no drug killing. Someone went to gruesome lengths to cover their tracks. The killer’s trail leads from Tucson to California - from anti-government squatters to the heights of wealthy society. As Tess follows the trail of gore and betrayal, perfect and indelible in her memory, she uncovers far more than one man’s murder and solves much more than one isolated crime.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
This was my first J Carson Black novel. The story was good but ended like there was a missed deadline. All of a sudden with three short chapters it was over. Disappointed..
Would you ever listen to anything by J. Carson Black again?
Not worth th money.
Have you listened to any of Joyce Bean’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Absolutely not.
