Historia
Disgraced cop Styvie Savard, from the hit Audible Original China White by Sarah Richards, is living in the British Columbia wilderness, the self-appointed guardian of a one-year-old girl, Willow. But Styvie’s clouded past–criminal charges, missed court dates–is about to catch up with her. Styvie’s ex-partner Denny Lee offers her a perilous way out, an off-the-books deep-cover assignment: infiltrate the Born Winners biker gang to root out a dirty cop. The mission: complete immersion in the lethal underworld of criminal bikers. Her objective: gain the trust of the club leader...by any means.

Hard to like main character
Revisado: 07-13-24
The main character is infuriating. Her lack of emotional control becomes a crutch for the author to use to build drama. Annoying.

Historia
Eva Kavinsky wakes in a dark cellar, with no memory of how she got here. Imprisoned with her, seemingly at random, are four men. The only way out is the trapdoor in the ceiling – and it's locked. The single clue about what brings them all here is a cryptic message sprayed onto one wall. Connect the dots. Repent. A camera fixed high above reach is livestreaming this whole nightmare to the world. What confessions are they meant to make to their unseen audience?

5 Strangers Trapped, or Are They Strangers
Revisado: 06-29-24
A well paced story that gives you clues as the tension builds. Who can be trusted and will anyone get out alive? Kept me guessing until the twist. Good way to pass a 5 hour road trip.

Good Story - Don't like AI Reader
Revisado: 04-14-24
First book from this author and I enjoyed the story and characters. The pace was good and kept me listening. The only complaint is the clunky AI reader. The voice was emotionless during conflicts and life or death situations. A shout or yell was deadpan and it would take a moment to understand the emotion of the character.
Would listen to more books by this author.
Not really interested in listening to another AI reader drone through the story.

Ugh.
Revisado: 01-14-24
I have enjoyed the quirky characters in this series. Sadly, this story seemed to be limited to trotting out stereotype descriptions. I was hoping for some character development and all I got was shrieking dialog. This could have been great fun, using the long history and lifetimes of the supernatural and how they were adjusting to modern life. RuPaul's Drag Race has more character development than this story.

Lying northeast of Massachusetts, just south of Hell, Arkham County is somewhere you find yourself, not somewhere you ever mean to go. Once you do find it though, you'd better get used to living there, as you may be there for however long you have left to live.

There is a story in there somewhere...

but you need a shovel to find it. Ugh. More emphasis on trying to out do Lovecraft at doing Lovecraft. Disjointed dialog, uneven volume of speaking voices, hackney sound effects covering weak story line.

Being 40 is supposed to be freaking fabulous, not fatal. Taking on a daunting new job minus the description isn’t the smartest move I’ve ever made, even if it was to save a friend. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn out to be the stupidest...or deadliest. Why can’t things stay the way they were? I love my old job. Supergluing ghosts back together and solving their issues is its own reward. Not to mention, I’m seriously good at it. Although, I must say, I’m ridiculously excited for the new Death Counselor’s arrival in nine months....

Cliffhanger...For television series it is expected but for books it is annoying.
Each book in the series has ended in a cliffhanger. The series is popcorn listening perfect for a weekend of listening and cleaning house.

The narration almost ruined it
Revisado: 12-28-20
The pronunciation of simple words like taco others were super annoying. Decided to finish the book because the story was good. Surprised this was not corrected early in the audio production of the book. I see the next two are read by the same person. Not sure if I will continue with the series. Taco? Really?

Historia
While my beau, Darcy, is off on a mysterious mission, I am once again caught between my high birth and empty purse. I am therefore relieved to receive a new assignment from the queen - especially one that includes lodging. The king's youngest son, George, is to wed Princess Marina of Greece, and I shall be her companion at the supposedly haunted Kensington Palace. My duties are simple: help Marina acclimate to English life, show her the best of London, and, above all, dispel any rumors about George's libertine history.

Queenie with the Royals - gads
Revisado: 12-12-20
This was an improvement over the previous adventure in book 8. I am still over and done with the idiot Queenie. It now feels like she is intentionally being incompetent. And the whining.......gads.
This tale brings some character life changes and Georgia seems to be maturing, a little. There was less focus on her being penniless and a Virgin and more on developing the character.
I wish there was more backstory provided on the historical ghosts. The book felt like the ending was rushed but that might be due to it continuing into book 10.

Not her best, Needs to dump Queenie
Revisado: 12-09-20
I wish the story stayed on the ocean liner and explored the glamour of the grand crossings. Once the story got to Los Angeles it got just too preposterous..... And why do we need the annoying and lazy Queenie? She adds nothing to the story and is like sitting by a person on a long plane ride with really bad flatulence.

An enjoyable distraction excluding awful Queenie
Revisado: 12-08-20
This was an enjoyable listen as I drove my dog to and from the vet for Chemotherapy. This was the first book that I did not figure out who the killer was until the dramatic reveal.
My only regret that is the dreadful Queenie has not improved her skills, is getting full of herself and I keep hoping she finds a poisoned scone. I am hoping that in the next book, which includes a ocean voyage, finds Queenie walking the plank or being washed overboard.
