This series and this book is amazing. I love how the narrator puts so much feeling into her narration. It really pulls me into the story. I highly recommend doing the tandem read of this and Tower of Dawn!

Not a bad listen…
Revisado: 05-29-22
But not the best. The story progressed ok, followed the same layout as a lot of psychological thrillers, and had an ok end. It wasn’t terribly satisfying, but it filled some time.

Great Follow up to Ready Player One!
Revisado: 12-15-20
I was wondering what could come after RPO, and concerned that the story might falter some. I had no reason to worry! The story was great, original, and just as engaging as Ready Player One. If you liked RPO and are on the fence about this one, take the chance, you won’t be disappointed.

Great continuation of the series!
Revisado: 08-29-20
There were a couple of audio glitches that took me out of the story for a moment. Overall, however, it is the same quality of content that I have come to know and love from Jim Butcher and James Marsters.
The story is great and presents with a different and more mature tone than other books in the series. Harry is full of longing and hurt as he faces his biggest challenge yet. I already pre-ordered Battle Ground and can’t wait to have this cliffhanger resolved!

Not a bad start...
Revisado: 09-09-19
The book starts pretty quickly and keeps up a decent pace. The writing was pretty good, but a bit repetitive. This seems like a good beginning to a fantasy series, and I am excited to see the characters develop. It's obvious that Mr. Greenan is a new author and has some kinks to work out.
The reading by Andrew McDermott was enjoyable and pretty well done. Overall, I'm glad I gave it a listen and find myself disappointed that book 2 isn't available yet!

Worth a listen!
Revisado: 08-22-19
The writing was a bit clunky at times and the story occasionally felt a bit rushed.
That being said, it’s a solid story overall, and worth a listen if this sort of genre appeals to you.
The narrator does a wonderful job and his voice is soothing.

Not for me...
Revisado: 08-20-19
I listened to just shy of 3 hours of this book before deciding it’s not for me. Every other sentence was incredibly descriptive and felt more like listening to poetry than a novel.
Additionally, I found myself lost several times. Maybe just a lot of information being thrown at me all at once with not a lot of background.
The performance was fine and from what I could tell there was nothing inherently wrong with the story, it is just not my style. If you like more prose-style writing, check it out!

A little different this time around.
Revisado: 08-16-19
The third installment of the ExForce series is a bit different. We bounce back and forth between the Flying Dutchman and Paradise, It's nice to revisit old characters like Cornpone and Ski, and see how humans are faring caught between the Ruhar and Kristang on Paradise.
Again, our merry band of pirates manages to kick butt and save the day, all while remaining invisible to the higher species roaming around space.

Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Here we go again!
Revisado: 08-16-19
In the second book of the ExForce series, we are parading around space once again with Joe and Skippy. This time joined by elite soldiers from every nation that makes up UNEF, there is more action as humans are again desperate to keep their home planet safe.
The relationship between Joe and Skippy deepens and you find yourself feeling more affectionate for a shiny beer can than you ever thought possible as he helps a barrel of monkeys excel and save the day.
R.C. Bray is back, bringing life to some of our favorite characters, and keeping the story so engaging you won't want to put it down.
