Historia
The number-one New York Times best-selling author of Small Great Things returns with a powerful and provocative new novel about ordinary lives that intersect during a heart-stopping crisis. The warm fall day starts like any other at the Center - a women’s reproductive health services clinic. Then, in late morning, a desperate and distraught gunman bursts in and opens fire, taking all inside hostage. After rushing to the scene, Hugh McElroy, a police hostage negotiator, sets up a perimeter. Then he finds out that his 15-year-old daughter, Wren, is inside the clinic.

Outstanding! One of Jodi Picoult's best
Revisado: 04-19-25
The characters, the story, the ending, the whole book kept me entranced throughout this backward chronolgy about a gunman going into an abortion clinic in Jaclson, MI. Bahni Turpin crushed the narration. She was outstaning. The ending blew me away. I am one of those people that alway guess the end in the first few chapters but not this time.
It made me really think about the Pro Choice/Pro Life debate in ways I never believed I would. When a story can take beliefs you have held your whole life and make you revisit those beliefs, that is a story that needs to be heard.

Revisado: 03-20-25
I don't know what happened. I really like Bahni Turpin, but I could find nothing in any character to connect to. There was no way I would have listened for 15 hours. It's a pass for me.

Historia
In the shadowy world of covert operations, Carly Fletcher and Bo Harris were presumed dead, a convenient fiction crafted by the CIA. But the truth was far more complex. Relocated to Europe under the guise of witness protection, they believed themselves safe, ready to carve out a new life. Fresh revelations emerge, crushing the hopes of a new start. Before long, they come to the grim realization that the individual who inflicted so much pain, is once again pursuing them.

Great Listen

Sequel to Operation Arrow Fletcher. Two storylines run parallel. One is the continuation of Carly Fletcher's journey after the mithridate was stolen. The other highlights Agent Stacey Canter trying to stop a serial ax murderer from claiming anymore victims.
Loved how it all came together in the end. Great narration.

You Are Never Who You Think You Are
Revisado: 11-03-24
This book made me really think about things that I try to never think about. Where does the real you lie? What would you do in the face of extreme adversity? Do you step up for the group or do you hide and try to save yourself? You will never truly know the answer to that unless you are faced with those kinds of decisions, but this book really forces you to think about that and hopefully go in the right direction.
Excellent narration by Jesse Villinsky. This is the first book I've listened to by her and I will definitely look for more.
Excellent listen and very uncomfortable. Sad and introspective. I loved it!

Very hard to get through
Revisado: 05-10-24
I can't find an ounce of connection to this character. I am not even a quarter of the way through and I'm done. I can't summon up any interest in this story. I wish Audible would let me return it. Girl learns how to shoot and goes to the Russian front. I am surprised that this is so boring because I loved The Rose Code and other Kate Quinn books but this one is just really lacking.

Thank Goodness for the Narrator
Revisado: 11-11-23
The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because January LaVoy saved this typical, always the same, Nora Robert's story. Nora must have a template and just changes the names. Please get an original idea and stop riding the same tired story. The bad guy comes in the beginning (we all know who he is), the main girl gets the protector guy and the family that just love her, she becomes strong and saves the day at the end. Enough. You're a great writer. Do something original. Sorry all you NR lovers. I won't be listening to another until she changes the tune.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

Steven Weber was the best part of this story
Revisado: 11-03-23
I don't know man, I thought this was so random and all over the place. I probably could have come in halfway through the book and been fine. The best thing about this book is the narrator. If you want to hear an amazing feat of narration, then listen to IT. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend it. 44 hours of my life would have been better spent doing something else.
