I really loved this book. I’m a fan of the whole fortune series, but this was a really clever plot. I hate the use of the Lord’s name as an expletive or exclamation. But other than that, this was a winner.

Great stories, wonderful narration
Revisado: 09-26-24
The Albert Smith stories are all very well written. Internal monologues of the German Shepherd, Rex, are fun, and used well to move the story forward. The narrator is terrific.

Great Story. Great Performance.
Revisado: 05-03-24
What I love about this entire series is that the storylines don’t feel contrived. They are interesting, and the characters are well developed. There are some definite anachronistic elements – – modern opinions about certain social issues that creep in to the stories. But that is my only complaint. the series has been quite enjoyable and I look forward to future books.

Great story with impossibly bad narration
Revisado: 04-05-24
It is a true tribute to the quality of these novels that I endured the sheer torture of listening to this narration. How is it possible that no one in this English village has an English accent?! The narrator was doing a bad Lady Bracknell impersonation for the main character and it was grating. But the worst part of the narration were her choices for the two key supporting characters of Jermaine, the Butler, and Barbie, the fitness guru.. There are no words. Truly awful. Was there no one there producing these audiobooks who could have raised the red flag? I would gladly re-record the entire series myself for free if I could spare someone else the pain of this narration.

I have loved the royal spyness stories. This one was good, but not my favorite. I have to admit that I guessed the ending fairly early on in the book. Still, I found it to be an enjoyable read/listen.
