I enjoyed this book. The twists were interesting. I loved this author’s stand alone books very much. Beginning this series. We’ll see how they compare.

I read this series years ago and am circling back to enjoy it again. It makes for good entertainment during my commute and when I am working around the house. I like the main character and the relationship that evolves with her boss. I appreciate that Christianity is woven through the chapters but find some of the evangelistic “perfect endings” to be a bit unrealistic.

You can tell that this was written in 2002, but the story does carry though well.

This reminded me of a quote that it’s easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter kingdom of God.

narrator is fine. great mystery book. author writes good clean books without illicit sex...which I appreciate very much. if this sounds like something you would like, I would recommend this book to you.

I read this series when I was a teenager and still love the storylines and clean mystery as a young 30-something now. MSC does a great job with weaving scripture in with suspense and reminds us all of lessons sometimes forgotten.
However, like most other reviews, I found it extremely difficult to reconcile the character of Callie with the choice of narrator. The chosen narrator, who does a perfectly lovely job of reading the book itself, sounds more like grandmother instead of granddaughter. I cringe every time I remember she’s supposed to be my age and instead hear someone who sounds thirty years too old. I honestly don’t know if I will decide to listen to the other four books in the series or not.
