It drug in beyond my interest in the plot. The main character got more and more annoying. Make it a novella and maybe you can get onto it. It got outright painful.

Abridged NLP Gets to the point!

I learned about NLP years ago and used it successfully. These techniques hold many answers giving methods to make real changes. It’s so much easier than years of therapy. But it’s still work.

I really enjoyed this book as a refresher and am encouraged to dive in again.

The least useful book I have read in years

If you have never read anything, watched anything, or contemplated food addiction, this might be educational. Half this book is a rehash of all the research out there supporting the concept of food addiction, understanding dopamine, and the food industry’s attempts to cash in on this. The second half is snippets of numerous books and programs out there and how great it is if one of them works for someone. She seems to actually support a program where you just decide to listen to your rational mind and you are magically cured. You must be joking. If she did not find these programs and books useful, don’t include stories about how awesome people feel that succeed at it. Don’t even get me started about her old school beliefs about your brain and body’s requirement for carbs and that complex carbohydrates are better than sugar. If there is a single reference to a ketone, I missed it. Plant based, moderate fat, overall moderation.

This book reads like a high school term paper. Except painfully long.

Let me sum it up. 1) Food addiction is a thing. And 2) There are gobs of things out there from books, programs, surgical intervention, and pharmaceuticals. Sometimes they work.

There you go. Now you don’t have to listen. You’re welcome.

Someone needs to make a miniseries. A movie could not do it justice.

Not going to finish it.

Main character is supposed to be smart. It’s an integral part of the story. But she is an idiot. I know zero about her area of expertise and even I knew how far off the mark her logic was. So, that side plot or whatever the correct term is, is not enjoyable to listen to. The other one is the same old thing. Boring in its predictability. I’m half way through. I have no curiosity. There is no promise that anything interesting might be in the future.

Narrator is fine.

Moving on.

Will Smith Movie written all over it!!

When I first got the gist of the direction this was going, I wasn’t too sure. Then it got downright hilarious. It’s fast paced and ridiculous and funny, yet the message it is ends up sending is serious, sad and true.

Thoroughly entertaining listen. I loved it.

Not the ‘Riveting’ on the cover. Definitely worth the listen to me though. I enjoyed it.

The comments about narration should be considered. Not my favorite, but I’m glad I listened to the sample. I can see why this ruined it for some.

Couldn’t get past half way

I don’t enjoy books where the main character is not likable. You want this young woman to learn, to grow into the heroine that so many young women did in real life during this horrible time. She starts with potential and maybe she ends up the way I would like, but I can’t get past the ridiculous brat she has morphed into half way through. If there were any girls this stupid in real life, they didn’t survive to tell about it. To write anything different is to underestimate the horror that was WW2.

So disappointed in this after enjoying the Soldier’s Girl.
