Really paints a poor/in accurate picture of Coasta Rica
Revisado: 07-22-24
If you have never been to Coasta Rica please don’t read this book to your children, You/They will never want to go and you should want to go it’s an amazing place unlike how this author characterized it in this book.
The initial mis pronunciations from the AI reader are initially funny but as the book goes on the AI errors are compounded with how poorly the author characterizes the country.

Historia
Nutrition scientist and gastronome Dr. P. K. Newby provides a sweeping overview of the many interrelationships between humans, land, and food. Newby examines topics including key nutrition concepts behind good eating; the technology, biology, and psychology of food choices; how diet affects our health and environment; and evidence-based tips for creating lasting behavior change. At the same time, Newby debunks popular myths and food folklore, challenging listeners to "learn, unlearn, and relearn" the fundamentals of nutrition at the heart of a health-giving diet.

It’s a slow start but stick with it
Revisado: 07-29-23
I didn’t care for the first 3 or 4 chapters talking about the politics of food production but in the end it all came together once they got into the nutrition chapters.

Historia
In the predawn hours of March 4, 2002, just below the 10,000-foot peak of a mountain in eastern Afghanistan, a fierce battle raged. Outnumbered by Al Qaeda fighters, Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman and a handful of SEALs struggled to take the summit in a desperate bid to find a lost teammate. Chapman, leading the charge, was gravely wounded in the initial assault. Believing he was dead, his SEAL leader ordered a retreat. Chapman regained consciousness, alone with the enemy closing in on three sides, beginning the most difficult and exceptional fight of his life.

It's a good story but somewhat annoying
Revisado: 05-08-20
If I had a dollar for every time they tell me that the CCTs carrier the heaviest ruck I could have paid for the book and it's distracting to be told over and over again. It's a good story all in all.

Historia
In the early spring of 1845, Henry David Thoreau built and lived in a cabin near the shore of Walden Pond in rural Massachusetts. For the next two years, he enacted his own Transcendentalist experiment, living a simple life based on self-reliance, individualism, and harmony with nature. The journal he kept at that time evolved into his masterwork, Walden, an eloquent expression of a uniquely American philosophy.
