First, I would like to preface this review by noting that I reached out to Dr. Hobson via LinkedIn a few weeks ago, asking for advice on how to move forward in the field of Instructional Design (ID) and Educational Technology (EdTech) after recently attaining an M.Ed. in ID and Tech. Not only was he very quick to respond, but his first advice was not to promote his own book. Instead, he pointed me towards free options and current literature within the field. It wasn’t until later that I found his book and listened to it, not once, but twice. The book may appear relatively short in length for an audiobook, but it is so chock-full of information that I had to re-listen to it to take notes, which I will definitely be incorporating into my own plans as I transition into the field of EdTech. His advice covers the gambit of ID and EdTech from a general overview of what an ID could encounter in the real world, both good and bad, to recommendations for quality graduate programs, free online resources, and people to follow/connect with on social media.

So, you may be wondering why the 4-star rating on performance? Well, there are a few minor errors in the recording. This did detract slightly from the overall performance, as I found myself having to stop and backup to ensure I didn’t miss something in the recording. Still, the content (story) gets 5 stars, all day long. The information is condensed to only the essentials, the super-nitro-cold brew of ID, if you will. To anyone who wishes to continue their lifelong ID learning journey, I would highly recommend it!

I have heard recommendations for “Man’s Search for Meaning” for many years and now, having just finished it, I am happy to report I truly enjoyed it. It has brought clarity (though, no direct answers) to some of the questions I have always thought unanswerable.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone, particularly those in a period of suffering, as a guide on how to view your reality and possibly reduce it. To sum it up in one sentence, this book shook me down to my spirit and showed that hope, no matter how small, can be found anywhere!

Honour Rae and Luke Daniels have done it again! The first book was wonderful and the second takes it up a notch! Just when I thought the book was finished, it took a turn a I realized I still had 4 hours left! I cannot wait for the next one!

The overall performance of both books was incredible! R.C. Bray did an absolutely amazing job on all the character voices and narration. His voice sounds like a battle-hardened legionnaire and was a perfect choice for this series!

I was a fan of Jason Anspach and Nick Cole from another series, The Forgotten Ruins (Army Rangers Meets D&D, it is so good!), and had to give this one a try! I was not disappointed!

If you read some of the reviews of Galaxy’s Edge people noted that the first book and second book seem disconnected. At first, I agreed, but as the story drew on I discovered more and more twists and turns that tied them together beautifully. You just have to take the time to pay attention to the story as it develops.

The story is exciting and uses a lot of standard sci-fi jargon, e.g. durasteel, ion cannon, blaster canon. I enjoy this as I don't feel like I need a dictionary to keep up. Mix in wonderful dialog sequences. The story also shows the experiences Jason and Nick had in the military and uses some of their lingoes from that time as well. Their descriptions of how things feel and the sense/timing of battle is excellent.

The only reason I gave this a 4/5 on the story is that you can get lost quickly. As I said before, you have to pay attention to see some of the connections, while I genuinely enjoy this most of the time, I found myself going back a chapter to find out what I missed occasionally.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone! I loved listening to it and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Project Hail Mary was one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to! Seriously! Not only was the narration superb (I mean, when is Ray Porter ever not superb!), but the overall story had me riveted the entire time. I couldn’t put it down! I went to work today on only two hours of sleep because I couldn’t stop listening last night! If you want a sci-fi thriller with hard science, great humor, and wonderful storytelling, this is it! Thank you so much to Andy Weir, Ray Porter, and everyone involved with this masterpiece!

This book was very informative and enjoyable.
This book is primarily directed at women, but anyone who listens to it will be able to learn habits to live a healthier life and change their mindset toward health. I loved the author's genuine approach to teaching health. Overall, I loved this book and will probably listen to it again/recommend it to my friends!

This has got to be one of the best endings to a trilogy ever! I had no idea how it would end and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I cannot rate this book highly enough and encourage everyone to read it!
