You'd think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you'd be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they've left their cargo of human women - including me - on an ice planet. And the only native inhabitant I've met? Ruby Dixon has been on my TBR pile for a while now and I’m happy to have finally gotten to her. ICE PLANET BARBARIANS has definitely lived up to its hype IMO. It was a wonderful listen filled with descriptive world building. The connection between the main characters was easily palpable. I mean, Vektal said some amazingly romantic things for a barbarian. I found that the plot made sense despite all of its weirdness. Plus the sex was hot! I urge you to give it a listen!
The narration was fantastic. I’ve listened to other performances from both of the narrators before and honestly can’t remember enjoying them as much as I did this time around. Lloyd’s performance has definitely improved in quality from when he first got on the scene. I listened raptly as he and Jackson brought the story to vivid life.

I was pleasantly surprised by this novella. Despite the fact that it was limited due to story length I really enjoyed the world building. Although I often read shifter books not all dragon shifters follow the same lore. I found the way that dragons worked in the author’s world extremely interesting with a bit of a unique spin on a traditional idea.
I don’t think I’ve heard a performance of Lucy Rivers’ before. She absolutely nailed it!

CANDY FOR MY ORC BOSS was my first foray into the Monster Romance genre as it is currently known. I wanted to ease into the genre so I chose an author whose work I was somewhat familiar with. I’ve listened to two of Ross’ SciFi Romances and really enjoyed them. I figured she was a sure bet and I was right. This story was a simple, feel good, cute read. The characters were really likable and I got a real kick out of the MIL.
The narrators both did an amazing job portraying the characters. They totally brought the story to life for the listener. Mason Lloyd has certainly come a long way from when he first started narrating IMO. Felicity Monroe was wonderful and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Having never read Jennifer Julie Miller before I had no clue what to expect from this book. I was looking for shorter listens and when I saw that this was under 6 hours and in the + catalogue I couldn’t help but grab it. Boy am I thrilled that I did. I absolutely loved this book. The world building was superb and the action packed beginning drew me in with a quickness. The storyline was rather compelling and the romance was realistic. It wasn’t a slow burn romance. There was no burn at all. Instead, because DaR was a perfect gentleman, we got a romance that was heartfelt, genuine and respectful of Kira’s loss.
There were a few minor things that I found missing in the book. Firstly, Kira’s grief had holes in it. As she learns to live in her new surroundings she only seems to morn certain things. Secondly, this series is obviously going to follow DaR and his sons. What I’m not getting is why all of his children are boys. There was no reason given for that. The third thing that I found odd was a proclamation made by one of DaR’s sons. It was obviously put in the story to lay the groundwork for a future book however I found it suspect that nobody reacted or questioned him about what he said.
Both narrators blew me away with their performances. Tor Thom’s voice seemed especially deep as he portrayed DaR’s steely control and dedication. Emily Sutton-Smith delivered Kira’s southern accented words with easily felt emotion. I look forward to hearing more from them both.
* Jennifer Julie Miller must be a Battlestar fan

Nice enough story but in all honesty other than the basic premise of the town of Ordinary and its “vacationers” I doubt I’ll remember much about the book. It simply didn’t resonate with me.
Full cast narration is where it’s at! I love that each character has their own voice. The guy who played Ryder had this one part where he went from normal to seduction in an instant and it was so good!

I’ve enjoyed getting to know Defiance as she grew into her powers. At first I was a bit hesitant because she seemed a lot like Charley Davidson, the character that the author first became famous for. Now, having finished this book, I can easily say that the similarities I’m “seeing” is actually the author’s voice coming through. It is that, that I’m recognizing. Whatever it is I can say without any doubts that it is fun, quirky and refreshing.
BEGUILED is the final book in Defiance‘s character arc for this series. Out of the 3 books in the series thus far It’s definitely more of a romance. However I must say that the romance is still secondary to everything else going on in the plot. Which of course is a lot. Defiance Dayne always has too much going on at once.
The best thing about this book was the big ending. Jones has made it a habit to end each of the books in this series with a bang. Whether it be a surprise revelation or transformation or whatever she always leaves the reader felling a bit gobsmacked. The ending for this book was no different. The funny part is (in an ironic way) that it was slightly foreshadowed yet it came totally out of left field. It’s only as you look back and review what you’ve read that you realize how it was set up.
Simply put Traci Odom is phenomenal. I adore her narration. Before starting this series I hadn’t come across a production of hers in years. It’s been absolutely fantastic listening to her bring life to Defiance, Annette and everyone else. I adore the fact that each character has their own unique voice and style of speaking. Although subtle her acting only aids her in pulling off a masterful performance.

Onyx: I'm a city wolf - a damaged and injured one at that. Obviously, the absolute last place I should be when I'm in heat is in the middle of the woods with unmated male shifters in the wild able to scent me. But here I am, running for my life. I'm not used to anyone being nice to me, let alone helping me. Even being the daughter of a pack alpha doesn't keep you safe when you're the lone freak in your pack who can't shift. I'm being hunted out here in the woods, and yet somehow I feel safe on the doorstep of the big, brusque stranger who offers me sanctuary.

Shifter Romance 🐻🐺 - 🏍️ Romance - Erotic Paranormal Romance
I found this story pretty typical for a shifter romance albeit the transition that Onyx goes through was unexpected. I liked how it was unusual however I’m still a bit confused as to some of the specifics. I wish there were a few more words spoken about those things by the antagonist when the showdown went down. And although the book is technically an MC romance the 🏍️ parts were on the limited side.
I was well satisfied by the performances of both narrators. Listening to this book an enjoyable experience however it wasn’t exactly a dual narrated story as all but the epilogue was in Onyx’s POV.

About the MMC: Zuvok wasn’t a bad guy but there were times that I found him really annoying. I do like that he was able to recognize his idiotic behavior when it was pointed out to him by Princess Alundra.
About the FMC: Alundra was extremely likable if a bit naive. I loved her reaction when she first realized who Zuvok was. She had a great attitude, fantastic spunk and a realistic head on her shoulders.
About the story: I could have done without the huge info dump at the beginning of the book. It was the author’s attempt a world building but a lot of it was unnecessary. The flow of the book was smooth and even paced. I found it really easy to get into the story.
*Cringe Alert*
In a world where women seem to differ greatly in which words we prefer in reference to female genitalia let it be said that I’m not a fan of the word “tw@t”. It was used quite a few times in the story.
Meghan Kelly is a narrator that I’ve come across multiple times. It always takes me a minute to adjust to her style. I’m not sure what it is but at first I always find her narration a bit abrasive. But then, without a doubt, I always come to enjoy her performance. This performance was no different. By the end of the book I was well satisfied by her.
Tristan James has a great voice. I love that he made sure to use a different voice and attitude when speaking the female characters lines. I enjoyed his acting. Zuvok’s braggadocios behavior was clearly portrayed in his performance. Unfortunately Alundra seemed more clueless than demure when James performed her lines.

While it thoroughly enjoyed this SciFi Romance there was one thing that bothered me so severely that what I would normally have given a 3.5/4 I’m giving a 3. This story is essentially futuristic. It’s set approximately 60 years in our future and takes place off planet. Unfortunately though the FMC, has no clue about anything. Like, I get the way the author has set up the lack of knowledge. I truly do, but I don’t find it plausible in the least. We could experience an apocalypse tomorrow and it wouldn’t excuse how utterly unknowledgeable Resa was about some things. It’s not that she was stupid. She just lacked basic knowledge/education.
Things I ❤️ About the Book:
World building- Storm put great effort into the world she created. The Zalaryn’s are well described as are their customs.
Remembrances of old 🌎- Resa’s memories of comments made by family members were interesting. It was funny what she remembered.
Both of the narrators were spectacular. They did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life. It was so easy to loose myself in their performances.
