Very cute for what it was..I definitely would not
use a credit for this and luckily this one was included with premium. The others in the series have to be bought or a credit used, so I will be reading them on my kindle instead.

CANDY FOR MY ORC BOSS was my first foray into the Monster Romance genre as it is currently known. I wanted to ease into the genre so I chose an author whose work I was somewhat familiar with. I’ve listened to two of Ross’ SciFi Romances and really enjoyed them. I figured she was a sure bet and I was right. This story was a simple, feel good, cute read. The characters were really likable and I got a real kick out of the MIL.

The narrators both did an amazing job portraying the characters. They totally brought the story to life for the listener. Mason Lloyd has certainly come a long way from when he first started narrating IMO. Felicity Monroe was wonderful and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

it was just okay. no real action packed plot. not even a good plot at all. it was just fluff. felt like a teenager wrote it. it didn't have the good kind of spice. it was disappointing

It breaks my heart not to give Ava Ross 5 stars, because I love her writing. She’s super talented and her stories make me smile. This was simply too short and underdeveloped to be a book. It’s a novella disguised as a novel, and priced like a novel. I think I like her alien romances better. They aren’t particularly long, either. But those plots are more fleshed out. There was some good character development here, but not much plot. It didn’t draw me in like her other books. I kept rewinding after my attention wandered. The main characters were likable and the chemistry was decent.

I notice all the books the Monsterville series are just as short. I’d be more inclined to support Ms. Ross with my credits if she combined these stories into a couple of anthologies. I got this in a 2-for-1 sale, so I don’t resent the credit. But I sadly would not invest further in the series.

I had listened to some other cozy monster romances earlier this year (not from this author) but they always came up as a recommendation afterward and I did enjoy this one but not as much as some of the others in the same genre. It jumbled a lot, story-wise, so I wasn't as engrossed as I would have liked to be. I thought transitions could be smoother and the plot fleshed out a bit. Overall the story was ok, narration was good so that's why it got 4/5 stars.

The storyline had some funny moments and I enjoyed seeing Max and Chastity fall in love and allow their fated mates situation to be real after to trying to fake it for a hot second haha. I also thought the back and forth with Max's dad was done well (not that I liked him but it was more realistic with how he feels about humans) and loved his mom and making her hubby get in line. I liked the twist at the end with how she finally wore him down! I am intrigued about learning more about this new world and seeing what this author does with more creatures and storylines.

Narration was good like I mentioned before, I have listened to the female narrator and I thought she did a good job. I laughed and her inner monologue but sometimes she was a tad OTT. I thought the male narrator did good too, I haven't heard of him before but will definitely check out more that he has been narrating (looks like a lot of monster/alien ones so I am totally down!).

Don’t definitely started off HOT 🥵 and then there were all the wonderful sprinkles of sweetness to top off this hot cocoa of a book ❤️❤️❤️❤️
