Fun and Steamy Short Stories
Revisado: 12-04-24
I liked the stories. Short, fun, and steamy! I also liked the role reversal of female alien and human man in the last story. I don't like the automated voice reading-- voice inflection is off and a little distracting from the story but the stories were good enough to overlook that aspect.

Intoxicating smile. Sculpted arms. To-die-for eight-pack. And enough medals on his uniform to set off airport security from a mile away. He doesn't resemble the kid who shared my tree house with me, along with every perfect memory of my childhood. He protected me—long before he protected our country.

My favorite trope is friends to lovers but this story had special significance to me because of Max's challenges and her best friend always standing up for her. I will definitely listed to this again!

This Book Will Make You Cry
Revisado: 04-30-24
Magic Hour is a work of art. The characters are diverse with deep history and development. The town and it's people come across as completely authentic small-town, as we have all experienced small towns. Dr. Julia Cates leaves her career in LA after her carefully cultivated reputation is shattered after a tragedy. When her sister calls her to help with a wild child found in the small town they both grew up in, Julia deals with both her own feelings of going back to the town she grew up in, feeling like an outsider, and trying to redefine her identity after losing her reputation as a famous psychologist. Yet, she puts aside those feelings in order to help heal a deeply traumatized little girl she calls Alice. I am impressed with how well Alice was written and handled. Her story completely drew me in. There are several story lines intermingled from different characters that are all brought together with an ending that will bring you to tears and stay with you well after you finish.

Historia
So I'm throwing myself a breakup party, a glittery fete where I envision I'll lift a glass and celebrate being free and single again. What I actually do: drink too much champagne and blurt out to my best guy friend that I'd really like to get back on the horse. But what I truly don't expect is Carter's answer—he volunteers as tribute.

could get enough
Revisado: 12-05-23
My favorite trope is friends to lovers and Lauren did not disappoint. My only criticism is that it distracted me from things I should have been doing instead of being completely immersed in the story of Rachel and her hot jock bestie, who was a complete test best with his well-planned dates with Rachel to show her how a man treats a woman he cares about. ❤️

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Unforgettable Characters
Revisado: 11-23-23
The storyline is absolutely addictive. The characters are complex and unique, even the dragons. I really love how the dragons have distictive personalities apart from their Riders and it shows in their communication. The narrators did an excellent job--they imbued the story with emotion and even with the tense scenes, the tone of voice and pacing conveyed the urgency. I can't wait for the next 3 books!

Historia
I was a city girl with humble dreams. Then Dylan O’Dea broke into my flat, held me against the wall, and told me to stay quiet. It was like in the movies, where the universe zeros in on a single scene. I looked into his eyes and knew he was going to change me. For Dylan, the sky was always falling. He showed me how our world is a contradiction of beauty and ugliness. How we choose to ignore the awful and gloss over it with the palatable. How you need just a tiny drop of something unsavoury to create every great scent.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down from start to finish, but in the end it broke my heart because I'm a happily ever after kind of girl. I fell in love with the characters. L.H. Cosway made them real. They made me laugh, they made me cry, and they made me wish for something better. If you liked John Green's The Faint in Our Stars, I think you will love this book also.

Historia
Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project—a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia—Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward.

I'm in love with Ali Hazelwood 's books!!
Revisado: 08-25-22
I always find myself finishing Ali's books so quickly then, re-reading or re-listening to her other books while I wait for the next book release.
Her characters are quirky and lovable. I love that they are always about women in STEM. I genuinely felt angry on behalf of Bee for all the misogyny she puts up with. Being a woman in IT, I'm grateful it isn't as bad as Bee's circumstances. This story is slow burn but the spicy scenes are sooo hot, it's totally worth the wait.

Sweet Show Burn with a side of Sci-Fi
Revisado: 06-07-22
Loved this story. The characters were relatable and I love how polar opposite they are. The story brought them together naturally. My favorite moment included mozzarella sticks and a tattoo, and the happy ending of course.
