Heroes Assemble!
Revisado: 05-28-24
This is an excellent* collection of 451 great teachings. I didn’t find many “new” insights because I had already read many of the books/authors that the author mentioned, BUT it is a great summary of those great teachers and authors. I have both the kindle version and the Audible version and this will be my goto when I want to remind myself of a lesson. Thanks for that!
Brian did a great job in reading the book. I always like it better when the author reads their material. It adds so much.
To the author, I also live in Austin and hope to see you on the heroic journey sometime.

Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Historia
In The Black Swan Taleb outlined a problem, and in Antifragile he offers a definitive solution: how to gain from disorder and chaos while being protected from fragilities and adverse events. For what Taleb calls the "antifragile" is actually beyond the robust, because it benefits from shocks, uncertainty, and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension. The antifragile needs disorder in order to survive and flourish. Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, even necessary, and proposes that things be built in an antifragile manner.

Ellenburg does a great job at showing us the nature of Mathematics.
He shows us some goid history as well as giving us the relevance on why we need to think Mathematically. very well written, and having the author read it was a nice treat as well.

Good but not great like Lonesome Dove
Revisado: 07-14-16
I have lived Lonesome Dove for 20+ years. I thought I'd f I bally read this final chapter in the series. It was very good, however, it wasn't great like Lonesome Dove. I'd still very much recommend it to see what happens to Cap'n Call, and the rest of the Hat Creek Cattle Co.

Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.
