Feels sooo good!
Revisado: 09-11-24
I cannot get enough of McCall Smith, his tone, the thoughtfulness, the tender hearted people in his books, the sense of place and deep connections all make me feel love and feel loved and that the world is truly a wonderful place. Even Irene has a place in my heart. :) The narrator is absolutely the best, his ability to voice the characters brings such strong mental images of them to my head! excellent pacing and editing.

Historia
"Believing that something is wrong with us is a deep and tenacious suffering," says Tara Brach at the start of this illuminating book. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork - all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's 20 years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.

Caution: RAPE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Revisado: 12-15-23
Was really into story until it started getting heavy on rape. Then the main character was beaten by her husband... then the martial rape began. Had to check out, way too horrific to continue, esp as the next day, everyone was happy again. Nauseating. That being said, Davina Porter is a fantastic narrator. I love her work!
