AI Voice, closed intolerant perspective
Revisado: 04-24-25
I liked that the AI voice was clear and easy to hear and at a pace that worked for me. I missed a human being's intonation, breathing, etc.
If you want it to be open to this information but it didn't work for me. The details are misleading in the description of this book. I have not finished it yet and don't know if I will. Love to hear someone else's input. I am not ready to disavow science nor disavow all the religions of the world.

Historia
Beautiful, sophisticated and endlessly ambitious Lily Bart endeavours to climb the social ladder of New York's elite by securing a good match and living beyond her means. Now nearing 30 years of age and having rejected several proposals, forever in the hope of finding someone better, her future prospects are threatened. A damning commentary of 20th-century social order, Edith Wharton's tale established her as one of the greatest British novelists of the 1900s.

Great for a daily deal! Somewhat intense
Revisado: 05-20-23
with only one review before me, I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to get this book. I read a little bit about the author. listen to the sample a couple times and decided to give it a try, especially for the price.
I love stories that have the different narratives for the main characters. jumping back and forth through time and through character. had me rewinding a couple times. but I like that sort of thing. The end did not disappoint me and I recommend this book.

Historia
Thousands of years ago, Earth's terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life - but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity's great empire fell, and the program's decisions were lost to time. Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth. But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed. And it's been waiting for them.

Rewarding struggle to finish
Revisado: 04-23-21
I loved the author's details, attention to specifics, and connecting both throughout the story. I also struggled to effectively connect the dots because I'm often doing things while I'm listening to my audiobook. Children Of Ruin was quite profound and yet quite tedious at times but that's life isn't it? So I kept reading and when I didn't get it I rewound my book and listen to that part again. The more I understood and connected the more vivid and captivating my images became. I highly recommend this audiobook especially if you like science, possibility, and striving for peace while still discovering and learning throughout life.

I love what these two characters have in common and what their differences invoke in their thoughts! Great offshoot of the main dragon blood series! If you write more I'll read more!
