Pretty bad. It tells you everything you should do with no actual information on how.
Revisado: 09-28-24
So, you should just do everything, good luck and just be better. Also, the title really doesn’t apply at all, because again, there is zero application

A lot of words for very little information
Revisado: 05-24-24
I love the topic, and I know they probably have a ton of information to share, but sharing information was clearly not the Gold of this book. There were a ton of stories to explain why systems are beneficial, but none of those stories actually gave you any useful information. Actually, pretty hard to listen to overall.

Historia
Come inside a jury room as one juror leads a starkly divided room to consensus. Join a young CIA officer as he recruits a reluctant foreign agent. And sit with an accomplished surgeon as he tries, and fails, to convince yet another cancer patient to opt for the less risky course of treatment. In Supercommunicators, Charles Duhigg blends deep research and his trademark storytelling skills to show how we can all learn to identify and leverage the hidden layers that lurk beneath every conversation.

Super * conversationalist or connector
Revisado: 04-17-24
I think this was a good book, but I only gave it four stars because it wasn’t quite what I had expected, although the content was probably five stars. This book goes deep into relationship building and how to have a conversation with a diverse group of people and situation. It goes further and really focuses on not offending individuals, which of course has merit in a conversation and relationships. But the reason I only gave it four stars is because I don’t feel like it delivers on the word of communicator in the title to me a communicator, a conversationalist, and a connectorare all different things. Communicator I feel requires a goal for the conversation which never touched upon here. The content simply touches on how to make the other person feel comfortable while having a conversation. Decent Book, I feel the title didn’t deliver on what I expected.

I love all of his books, but this one missed the mark in comparison. certain creative businesses, but it seems out of touch with the majority of smaller businesses. However, I do recommend you check out every other books from Mike.

It might inspire someone, but it doesn’t provide much more than that
Revisado: 04-01-24
Probably actually worth two stars, but I gave it three because if it actually inspired somebody to take action, then it’s probably worth it. But the content is very sparse and very general. I’m actually not really sure what the goal of writing this was besides, maybe sparking someone’s interest to dive deeper into the subject, but given the actual content in this book, it would be hard for anyone to take clear action. Not to mention, I feel it was unnecessarily polarizing and political - which really added nothing to the overall book, it was just a weird sidenote, throughout. Much better business books out there for your time.

By the end of on average day in the early 21st century, human beings searching the Internet will amass eight trillion gigabytes of data. This staggering amount of information - unprecedented in history - can tell us a great deal about who we are - the fears, desires, and behaviors that drive us, and the conscious and unconscious decisions we make. From the profound to the mundane, we can gain astonishing knowledge about the human psyche that less than 20 years ago seemed unfathomable.

Seems to be the definition of correlation vs causation
Revisado: 06-03-23
It’s wasn’t a very applicable book for claiming so much insight from data. It’s also difficult to listen to a “scientist” with such an obviously biased worldview. It only got three stars from me because I’m open to the possibility that I wasn’t the intended audience of this book, otherwise it would’ve gotten fewer stars.

Creative work doesn't come with a guarantee. But there is a pattern to who succeeds and who doesn't. And engaging in the consistent practice of its pursuit is the best way forward. Based on the breakthrough Akimbo workshop pioneered by legendary author Seth Godin, The Practice will help you get unstuck and find the courage to make and share creative work. Godin insists that writer's block is a myth, that consistency is far more important than authenticity, and that experiencing the imposter syndrome is a sign that you're a well-adjusted human.

Feels like he need to write a book so he wrote a book.
Revisado: 09-01-22
The content was disjointed with no flow or real purpose. The content wasn’t horrible but it was literally just a list of stuff. The audio was tough to listen to because the tempo was off with weird pausing and emphasis. I’m a fan, but not a big enough fan to believe that a book should be written simply because you know it will sell regardless of the content. If you must get the book avoid the audio and get paper.

I appreciate many of the concepts in this book, but the use of biochemistry and research to support an an unsupported argument just rubs me the wrong way.

The content was really disappointing, and seemed like they needed a hook to power through but never delivered anything. Nothing cohesive, just a bunch of ideas thrown together.
