Shallow
Revisado: 05-07-23
I WANTED to like it but it's shallow. At no point do you feel like any of the characters are actual people. The plot is also kind of shallow and not at all believable. My apologies to the author, but it just didn't work for me.

Historia
The next big thing in artificial intelligence is here. Codenamed Cronus, the machine is capable of having its own thoughts and ideas - an absolute dream come true, until it wasn’t. When Cronus responds with the word “No” to a specific task it is assigned, Anagnorisis Technologies brings in Gilles Guattari to investigate. His combined background in psychiatry, psychology, and AI research makes him their best hope in evaluating Cronus, and determining if the machine is only malfunctioning or if it has become something more.

Loved it.
Revisado: 08-29-19
A good book that reminds me of some of the classic science fiction. I listen to Audio books while driving and this one had me wanting to drive more just so I could keep listening. . .

Historia
Earth in 2064 is politically corrupt and in economic decline. The Long Depression has dragged on for 56 years, and the Bureau of Sustainable Research is hard at work making sure no new technologies disrupt the planned economy. Ten years ago, a band of malcontents, dreamers, and libertarian radicals bolted privately developed antigravity drives onto rusty seagoing cargo ships, loaded them to the gills with 20th-century tunnel-boring machines and earthmoving equipment, and set sail - for the moon.

Author clearly dislikes liberals. Lol
Revisado: 08-16-19
This book could have been a good deal more enjoyable IF the Author hadn’t spent so much time and effort expressing his intense disdain for liberals and going to extraordinary lengths to exaggerate where he thinks these policies will lead. Don’t get me wrong, I even agree with SOME of his thoughts on it, but the story is just saturated with it.

Bored
Revisado: 04-09-19
Gotta be honest - it bored me so badly I gave it back to Audible. This is one of those post Apocalypse books where they spend way too much time dwelling on the nuts and bolts - what weapons, what manufacturer, what accessories, etc, etc. I understand some authors of these types of books feel obligated to teach their readers, but it makes for verbose boredom for me. Also thought the book unrealistically pessimistic assuming that people would loose their veneer of civilization within a couple of hours of an event. I have no doubt that things would probably get ugly eventually, but I doubt it would be instant.

Made up curse words?
Revisado: 02-26-19
I’ve gotta be honest, the made up curse words just about ruined it. Every single time, it was like hearing a needle scratched across the record - it was jarring and annoying and took you out of the story.
