Historia
A killer walks among the rich and powerful. Who can the Magebreakers trust? Someone is killing the non-magical members of Senate houses - those who might one day be named Protector of the Realm. And that same someone is leaving behind messages for the Magebreakers beside symbols of the shadowy organization known as the Knights of the Emperor. Under suspicion from the constabulary, Tane and Kadka are drawn into the investigation to prove their innocence. What they find is that Audish politics are as dangerous as any Porthaven back alley.

Historia
In a world of elves and dwarves and sprites and mages, Tane Carver is a human with no gift but his wits. Which, to be fair, did get him into the world's most prestigious university of magical technology. For a while. Until his lack of magic was discovered. And then it all came crashing down. But when a student is murdered on campus behind unbreakable wards, Tane gets a second chance. Solving an impossible crime should be easy for the man who fooled the university's best mages for years. Except he's not counting on the head constable being an old flame who isn't so fond of him anymore.

A good Healer, they say, must use his Gift professionally. Really? No one in my past world would spout such nonsense! Everyone there knew full well what a Healer from the Order was capable of . . . And they also know that a Healer doesn't have to kowtow to anybody. But now, I'm no longer in that world. And in this world, I am not only a great Healer, I am also a great count, one that can do far more than heal, as my enemies know full well. But little do they know that I've only just begun!

A fun and frequently silly story with powerful magic, cross world travel, and not so noble feuds, the arrogant hero healer always comes out on top.

The whole family goes on an unexpected forced vacation into a war and monster torn world, and are given great powers but also great challenges, tested by some unknown celestial powers (all in the setup, no spoilers here). Was fun, with some intentional groans at teenage angst and other selfish attitudes, but not so much it felt like a teen drama at all, just family bickering for spice. I'm looking forward to continuing the series!

If that wasn't bad enough, the experimental technology in his head is acting up, causing all sorts of problems, and the nearest medical specialist might as well be a universe away. An isekai adventure that keeps moving forward at a very good pace for my ears
RE: Virtual voice: While I can't say it's as good as good narrators can do, it's much better than any of the mediocre or bad voice actors. The nuances of conversational tones are missing, yet it's still enjoyable and easy to listen to. I'll definitely be continuing to series!

I love the premise, and the author's telling of it. Narration is good as well. Full of action, just enough details to envision the scenes without bloat. Lightly visceral fights, ethical dilemmas, apocalyptic new world.

Dominant male, brute force melee, overdramatic
Revisado: 03-27-23
The narration is weirdly over annunciated, lots of excessive consonants. I found it only tolerable at about 1.15 speed due to the long pauses followed by sharp consonants. aside from that, it was a good story. ... I'm not as much of a fan of berserker type main characters, but for those who like them, this story is great. ... I felt some of the "real man" references and fears of the risk that the changes might include gender switching to feel a bit biased towards non-inclusive politics, of this matters to you.

Historia
Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Summoned into this chaotic place, a young boy with no name and no past must learn to survive. Bound to a master who doesn't care whether he lives or dies, he must become stronger. The question is: how?

Dungeon adventuring
Revisado: 03-07-23
I had a lot of fun listening to this story.
Pros: great main character, great depth of story and fun details of combat and thought bubbles
Cons: Who hurt you? Why are all of your women aggressive, self absorbed, and mean? Each woman given any detail in the plot thought their male counterpart lesser than them, and then it's proven how wrong she is by being outdone somehow by the man.
I still enjoyed the listen, but I now envision the author as having only ever met mean women, even his own mom. *shrug*
