Wish it was longer! Some audio level issues

Having listened to Karl's other books, there's more new crazy revelations with this book but there's also some familiar ground covered. There are also more recorded audio clips used in this story and the differing audio levels made it more challenging to hear the storyline at times. I found myself turning up the recorded clips a lot to discern the content, and having to quickly turn it down when Karl's narration takes over. But, I appreciate the way he mixes in both his recreation of quotes and the actual audio. Great book otherwise, and Karl's one of the best self-narrators you'll find.

Not as good...

I miss the early Connelly - Bosch days, the franchise is starting to feel stale unfortunately. This is my favorite line of books so it's tough to see things not running at full speed. I especially cringed at the predictable 'put yourself in a very bad position' setup toward the end of the book. Overall, I like the combination and the author somewhat redeems himself at the very end. Let's hope his next book is up to previous specs!

Another home run look at our possible future.

Excellent and plausible look into the future, this time on the moon. I love the Andy Weir gives us a look at what's possible. Great new characters too.

Great new character and narrator IS the character, but still needs work on characterization

Great to have a new cop running the beat for Michael Connelly. Very believable characters, and don’t worry about the narration. You get used to her lack of defining other character voices. Great book, waiting for more in the series

Connelly, Bosch and Haller - what a great team

I eagerly awaited the latest Bosch novel and it's a good book overall. It felt a little light though as I was hoping for a few more twists and turns. It's a nice book overall, and I can't wait for what's next.

Too much Bill Clinton, not enough 2016 campaign.

If you're new to the whole back story of Bill and Hillary and their history, then you'll get more out of this book. Otherwise, it spends an inordinate amount of time retelling mainly Bill's exploits and precious little on the actual 2016 campaign. If you want a great book about the 2016 presidential campaign, check out "Shattered".

Not a Grisham classic...

Book reads almost like several different short stories, winding into a common timeline toward the end. But the intrigue feels forced and not nearly as good as many of Grisham's other books. Something weird too, the chapters are VERYSHORT at times. You'll literally start a new chapter, then like 3 minutes later, here comes another. Somewhat distracting. Mark Deakins is a good narrator, but I listened to his Days of Fire rendition beforehand, and kept thinking of that book the whole time.

Picking up where Steig left off...but the names?!

Good story overall, though not as much character development as I would expect. And having listened to the previous 3 installments read by Simon Vance, two changes in the new book drove me a little nuts. First, the narrator moved the emphasis from the first to the second syllable in "Salander", making her name sound wrongly pronounced. And Erika Berger is now Erika "Barrier". What gives? Other than this, pretty good.

Just couldn't stand to finish it...

A decent storyline to start, but it gets more and more ridiculous after the half-way mark. I'm a big fan of Grisham and Michael Connelly, but Quirk's novel just crosses too many lanes of proverbial traffic to hold up. Maybe I'll have the stomach to finish it some day!

Good overall facts about "Camelot", O'Reilly??

O'Reilly's shotgun delivery takes some geting used to. Could have been twice as long and still not done justice to the various characters.
