Historia
Fresh out of rehab, Mallory Quinn takes a job as a babysitter for Ted and Caroline Maxwell. She is to look after their five-year-old son, Teddy. Mallory immediately loves it. She has her own living space, goes out for nightly runs, and has the stability she craves. And she sincerely bonds with Teddy, a sweet, shy boy who is never without his sketchbook and pencil. His drawings are the usual fare: trees, rabbits, balloons. But one day, he draws something different: a man in a forest, dragging a woman’s lifeless body.

A Wonderful Ride!
Revisado: 08-15-24
This story fulfilled my one criterion for leaving a review: I must have a difficult time putting it down. I don't care about genre or as much about narration. If the story keeps me reading and curious about what happens next, it succeeds. This story did that for me. While I was sure Mitzi had more to do with the plot than she did, and I felt a little let down at the end that the answers to the mystery seemed more from left field than in the vein of the story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Historia
Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer. He has made a practice of helping people transcend their self-imposed expectations in order to reconnect with a state of innocence from which the surprising becomes inevitable. Over the years, he has learned that being an artist isn’t about your specific output, it’s about your relationship to the world.

Starts slow but then...POW
Revisado: 01-14-23
I only write reviews if they're unbelievably bad or unbelievably good. This one is the latter. Narrator absolutely drew me in. Exceptional. Hard to know which was better, the story or the narrator. Full disclosure I'm very familiar with St. Cloud MN so the setting definitely resonated. I very nearly put the book down because it started so slowly and seemed immature. But this is told by a teenager, and that slow warm evolves into a full-blown fire.

Historia
When attending Georgetown University, in DC, I enrolled in a basic psychology course to get an A, as many of us did, to raise our grade point average. Halfway through the course, our professor spent an hour on "Automatic-Writing". This book will explain the consequences of such action. It'll be short and sweet, right to the point. It's an extraordinary story, enjoy the experience, and benefit from it.

Jilted husband's rationalization
Revisado: 06-03-20
I really hoped to understand more about automatic writing when I got this book but learned astonishingly little about the topic. Instead, this is the story of a jilted husband's rationale that his divorce certainly couldn't have been at all his fault but, no, it only happened because his wife was possessed and lost her mind/left her body. Were she in her right mind and had never messed with auto writing, surely, she would never have left him. Therapy is recommended if you ever hope to have a relationship with those children you seem to truly miss while offering them excuses instead of honesty.

A Pleasant Surprise
Revisado: 05-02-20
This is some fresh storytelling. It probably won't be a classic but it was surprising how it attached to me without my knowing and reeled me in so that I couldn't stop listening. I'm not an academic, just an average reader, so my criteria for a great story is simply this: it keeps me interested and involved and I feel full and satisfied when I'm finished. This story absolutely did all of the above.

Historia
When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

A very good story but some of the best narration I've ever heard . I usually don't like narration with accents but this narrator kept me listening and wanting to hear more I was completely pulled in. A wonderful ride!

incredible and impossible to put down
Revisado: 12-01-18
I hesitated to buy this book from an author I wasn't familiar with but gave it a try and am sincerely grateful I did. The story was so engrossing, so well told, so realistic, with such compelling narrators who told the story with excellent voice changes and accents without detracting from the story . It is one of my favorites now thank you
