Fantastic twist on a classic tale,Mature,Engaging.
Revisado: 12-09-15
Cinderm This is a classic tale written clevery with a high tech twist. To say it is engaging is understatement. Everyone knows the story of cinderella, but Meyer gets all of the detail in there, including the, the prince at the ball, and the fariy godmother, in a way you could not discern or predict even while you are reading [in my case listening]. Some of the invention is clever, some of it is completely off the wall. Good read, but be aware of the fact that once you are hooked, you will want to read the follow ons: Scarlett [little red...], Cress [Rapunzel], and Winter [Snow W.]. Each of them are every bit as engaging as this book, and the series - for those who enjoy a little fantasy in there life - is a great set of books. If you wanted to be one of J.K. Rowlings house elfs, if you felt divergent - and wanted to be in dauntless next to Tris, if you wanted to catch fire with Katness, well..., this is where it starts for Prince Ky, and a Cyborg named Cinder.

this is so not the movie.
Revisado: 11-30-15
This book is a monster book plain and simple. A very seductive monster book, that makes you consider what there is in allowing a monster into your bedroom and beyond. What happens to you when you make that choice. And what could happen to the monster, who in some regards was the innocent one who you caught in our snare, maybe by accident, but you could have let him go....[but you decided you wouldn't, and you tell yourself you couldn't...].
Hollywood could never and has never done monster stories corretly because to do so you have to enter in to the mind and soul of the characters, and few directors / producers even consider that, let alone work at it.

good read, David lagercrantz has picked it up.
Revisado: 11-30-15
What made the experience of listening to The Girl in the Spider's Web the most enjoyable?
The suspense that made Stieg Larsson so famous is back. Larsson had part of this book written I think, but never the less David Lagercrantz has picked up the gantlet where it was laid down. I am so happy [though I don't know how the author and publishing and general rights to the publication were worked out] this book is out.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
when he was handcuffed to the bed, I couldn't listen for more than a minute at a time. I had to turn the story off, only to turn it back on when my blood pressure had gone down, and my anxiety lessened. That chapter almost took me 4 days to listen to. I had figured out the outcome, I just didn't want to hear it. Wow. neat.
Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favorite?
Lizbeth's sister, and her accomplices, well done.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
3 to 4 days to get through one chapter, I think that is extreme, I mean it's only a book.
Any additional comments?
I hope the next two are coming also....
