Two candidates are vying to become Chancellor of Germany. One is a patriot having served for the past 16 years, the other a usurper, stoking the flames of nationalistic hate. Both harbor secrets, but only one knows the truth about the other. They are on a collision course, all turning on the events of one fateful day - April 30, 1945 - and what happened deep beneath Berlin in the Fürherbunker. Did Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun die there? Did Martin Bormann, Hitler’s close confidant, manage to escape?

Great little series
Revisado: 03-03-20
What a great detective series. I have enjoyed the first two of the Damien Dickens novels and this third one is no disappointment! I really enjoyed learning more about Millie's background and admire her detective brilliance that is brought out more and more in each new novel.
This book brings much more development in both characters separately and as couple. I've really come to love this detective duo!

in this book i loved being able to learn more about Damien's wife, Millie. As newlyweds tring to start their honeymoon, they are forced into a new mystery and we learn a lot about Millie's resourcefulness and their commitment to their craft and to each other. The plot takes a few drastic turns that will make it hard to put this one down! The ending will have you heartbroken one moment and elated the next. a GREAT way to end a story!

Suspense at it best
Revisado: 02-20-20
Loved it!!! The title had me thinking this might be more of a Nancy Drew kind of story basically for young adults but i couldn't have been more wrong. although young adults would absolutely enjoy this, it is for every age. The characters are lovable and I found myself totally invested in there welfare.
The story has many twists, is filled with intrigue and action packed till the end.
I highly recommend this and can not wait to read/listen to the next in the series.

This is one story you can't put down!
Revisado: 07-18-19
This is one story you will have a hard time puttin down! Getting to know Sam Reilly in itself was worth listening, and I feel there us a LOT more to know.
I love the way the History takes you to dark and brings you into the light. From the evil of a few humans to the salvation of humanity. (I found myself Googling in every chapter, it's almost a mystery you feel like you are helping to find clues yourself) I haven't "participated" in a book this much since the first Dan Brown I read.
The characters have believable depth and complexity. You truly feel connected with and concerned about each one.
The narration is Great too! Gilmore doesn't wreck the story by tring to use extremely different voices for each character, but you have absolutely no problem knowing who is speaking and what is going on. (I've listened to some stories and had to rewind more than once to figure out what just happened) he is just a pleasure to listen to and has the perfect voice for these characters!
The plot is WONDERFUL and the twists come at you from nowhere but never leave you feeling as though your lost. The final chapters , although satisfying, just leave you wanting more! If you only have one credit, USE IT ON THIS ONE!!!
I can not wait to read the next in this series!!!

A Must Listen/Read
Revisado: 05-08-19
I dont know my review could give this book the justice it deserves. It is riveting from the very first paragraph. I seriously did not stop listening until the end.
It will break your heart, it will make you laugh in the most surprising places, it will give you a glimpse into the darkest depths of human rights and injustice. It will sadden you, it will anger you and it will leave you with hope and determination to find out more.
Now for a personal note to the Narrator Josh Horowitz.
Josh,
I am speechless. It was just amazing. I sat on my porch as you described Sam listening and hearing the faint sound and as you began to sing, chills ran up my arms and down my back. Tears filled my eyes as the familiar melody stuck a cord in my mind and soul. As the song ended and tears flowed freely down my cheeks my heart filled with so many emotions. What an incredible job you have done with this story! I can not imagine the emotional rolla coaster of this production you on.
You should be so very proud of this work. Your performance was stunning!
Well done my friend. Very well done!!!
Thank you for sharing!

Not at all what I expected
Revisado: 04-24-19
I havent read the first book so I wasnt sure if starting with book two wouldn't leave me lost, right out of the gate. I was wrong. This is a mystery with wonderful characters who lead the main character and the reader through to history of a town and a family with whom you will be spellbound.
I don't like to read spoilers so I refuse to leave them in a review but I found myself being turned around many times as to the who, the why, and the how of this mystery. in the final chapters it flips again. wonderfully sad and uplifting at the same time.
I have a new favorite narrator now that I've listened to Kevin Green!!! He is magnificent! Each character and the little nuances of the many dialects is carried out masterfully! I will definitely look for more book narrated by Mr. Green. I know every story has to end, but i really longed to listen to more!
Definitely worth a listen! you wont be disappointed!

What a sweet little book, that help to teach friendship and commitment along side cultural, linguistic and geographic aspects of one of our earth's most beautiful places.
Take your child along with Orange and his friends to adventures of curiosity and bravery as they listen to the wonderful narration provided by Mr. Freddie Moyano. Freddie does a great job bring individuality to each whimsical character. His voice, his cadence, his flexibly makes this wonderful story so enjoyable to listen to.
(The series is even affordable enough that you wouldn't have to invest a lot to give your kids hours of quality educational entertainment.)
