Historia
What if you stopped feeling ashamed of constantly being late or of getting so hyperfocused on a task that you drop everything else you had to do? How can you as a partner, parent, or friend better understand your neurodivergent loved one’s way of moving through the world? In Dirty Laundry, life partners Rich Pink and Rox Emery unapologetically guide you through the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Every chapter starts with a common symptom of ADHD, like impulsivity or struggles with finances, and an earnest moment from their own lives to show you how they navigate the symptom together.

Geared Towards Neurotypical Partners Of ADHD People
Revisado: 07-19-24
This book is geared towards having a non-ADHD partner who is capable of helping the person with ADHD manage. I do not think it is very helpful for people in other life situations. The idea of every person with ADHD having a partner who is capable of saving them from themselves seems a bit infantilizing. Congratulations on finding a caregiver. And congratulations on taming a manic-pixie-dreamgirl once the reality of trying to live that way set in.
As an ADHD woman married to an ADHD man, the dynamics in this book are wildly unrelatable.

Great! Not Much Unique If You Have Exhausted All Other Sources.
Revisado: 02-19-24
This book is very good. I like that it uses Brian's real voice, and the other voice actors are fairly well matched to their character's voice. I definitely think that it is easier to understand than Andy Greene's book, due to better voice casting. Keeping track of who is talking here is much easier, since the voices are similar to the voices we know from the show. It's actually pretty remarkable.
I have seen all of the DVD extras, listen to The Office Ladies podcast, and listened to Andy Greene's book. There haven't been any big surprises in reading this.
I would still recommend that anyone read this, though. If you like the history of TV in general or adore Greg Daniels, there are fantastic insights. If you are a regular fan, you may learn a ton. If you have already exhausted all other resources and are dying to get something new and juicy, that is probably an unrealistic expectation, but you will probably still want to read it and get a bit of your fix.
Maybe I am trying to squeeze water from a stone at this point. I definitely still give it 5 stars. If you haven't been sucking the bones and chewing the fat of The Office trivia for many years, this will be completely amazing! And everything about the writing and the voice acting is absolutely top-notch. It actually may be the best audiobook that I have ever listened to, if I'm being objective.
The overall sensory experience has been pleasant. I could do with fewer swear words, but that's a matter of taste. The casting and production really is phenomenal.
I'm just evaluating where I want to go from here. What am I doing with my life? Maybe Rainn Wilson was right and I do need to watch other things.
