Great who done it with surprises along the way! Voices of actors easily understandable. Hold your attention while the reader tries to figure out who is guilty.

Man bashing

It was intriguing but the man bashing went over board. When she talked about Michelle she referred her as the girlfriend but described picture of the couple being married. It was an easy listen.

Unexpected twist

Presentation of the story catches my attention immediately!

The story is spellbinding. Characters were well rounded and you got to know them. The interviewing of the “bluebeard interspersed with the story kept you wondering who is left alive right until the end.

Story told as only Richard Bachman/Stephen King could tell it.

When I started the book, I wondered how in the world would he be able to keep this interesting? I have been reading King novels since I was a teen so I knew it would be a good read. The character Gariety grabs you from the start. The other characters in the story are fleshed out as the story moves and you can’t help liking some of them, feeling empathy for some, disliking others and then understanding them and their motives. I was a little disappointed in the ending- I thought that maybe the winner would get revenge in demanding as his prize, that all the soldiers and the Major march back to the starting point. Overall, it was spellbinding and I couldn’t quit listening.

Not a story

This is a history lesson- a grueling history lesson. I would have stopped listening except I had paid for it and didn’t want to waste the money. ( I had added it to my library long before I listened to it) it seemed like I was listening to an outline of characters that needed to be fleshed out. I didn’t feel much of a connection with any of the characters. I wanted a story- to escape and be engaged with the characters- I was disappointed. I would really like to see the various characters in short stories or even full length books!

Spellbound

This series grabs you and pulls you in from the first book and the this one envelopes you into the story just as much! Looking forward to book 4!

True crime

I went looking for this book after seeing the advertisement for the show being released. This book was well executed, catching my attention from the start. The narrator was excellent
