Historia
The United States Army drafted Steve in 1969. Like many young men, he was unaware of the consequences of being drafted until being sent to Vietnam. Although his father was also drafted into the Armed Forces for World War II, nothing could have prepared Steve for the year of duty to come. Growing up in a large family, he developed a talent early on for storytelling. His accounts of Vietnam will have you imagining him sitting across a campfire telling his story.

Lest We Forget
Revisado: 01-03-25
First of all, I have to thank my Salty Sister Facebook group for recommending this fabulous book.
Unbeknownst to me, your heart wrenching novel has helped heal some of the deep wounds I did not know I had.
As a female Marine combat vet who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, I get the feeling of being disregarded for my efforts in the war. Especially for those of us who served on the front lines as Lionesses and Female Engagement Teams. Getting the help and recognition we deserve has not been an endeavor.
Thankfully, books like yours help bring to light the contribution of all past and present female service members, their dependents, and the civil servants who have supported the American war efforts.
Like our brothers, we too should all be allowed to have our pictures placed on the Hero’s wall!
Thank you,
Christie McConnell

Historia
In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (German for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners. Imprisoned for more than two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism - but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive.

Historia
In 1939, Gustav Kleinmann, a Jewish upholsterer in Vienna, was arrested by the Nazis. Along with his 16-year old son Fritz, he was sent to Buchenwald in Germany, where a new concentration camp was being built. It was the beginning of a five-year odyssey almost without parallel. They helped build Buchenwald, young Fritz learning construction skills which would help preserve him from extermination in the coming years. But it was his bond with his father that would ultimately keep them both alive. When the 50-year old Gustav was transferred to Auschwitz - a certain death sentence - Fritz was determined to go with him.
