Historia
In the wake of the Kejari, everything Oraya once thought to be true has been destroyed. A prisoner in her own kingdom, grieving the only family she ever had, and reeling from a gutting betrayal, she no longer even knows the truth of her own blood. She’s left only with one certainty: she cannot trust anyone, least of all Raihn. The House of Night, too, is surrounded by enemies. Raihn’s own nobles are none too eager to accept a Turned king, especially one who was once a slave. And the House of Blood digs its claws into the kingdom, threatening to tear it apart from the inside.

Boring
Revisado: 04-22-25
This took me a long time to get through. And it was an audible! It did not hold my attention. There were many holes in the story. The character flaws were unsettling. The storyline is unsatisfying. The performances were good. I could not figure out why the ratings were so high. I pushed through, hoping for some something redeeming. Sadly, at about 80%, I was just in it to just finish already. Oraya in Book 1 was a bad ass. String, complex even though I had more questions than answers, I was eager to get to Book 2. Raihn was not my favorite MMC, but I was vested. These were the weakest mentally and physically vampires I'd ever read about. If he said, "Ixs tits" one more time. Sigh. And Nyaxia was the worst. The "prize" in the "Hunger Game" type event from Book 1 the Kejari was a disappointment. Oraya and her betrayal of her father. Yes, dad was flawed but to see in Book 2 how she just turned on him. I would have preferred for Raihn and Vincent's story not to have been interwoven so Oraya's self discovery not look like a betrayal. I did not like that Raihn would never be that King. He was always being saved by Oraya. He was turned and well just wasn't sn attractive character in Book 2. I am never one to wish steamy scene away. More please but the two and their scenes were cringe and misplaced. Both characters had unresolved relationship issues. Raihn always was thinking about his first love M. Oraya had been assaulted. When they got together everytime she promised she referred back to the incident. It just gave cringe. I hated that for her but it seemed less about "not without my permission" than about the actual brutality of the assault. When they came together they kept referring (mentally) to their pasts.
80 chapters of word salad. The introduction of all these villans and I was left bereft. Yes, there was clearly a set up for more in the series but I have trust issues with this author.
I was reading with a friend I asked to read with me when I has already started Book 1. Hoping that we'd have a great discussion. We felt the same. Ok we'll read Book 2 but it better be good. Hell we could not figure out why the author would make Oraya's good friend's name from Book 1 so similar to her mother's name. What happened to the humans who helped in the last battle? I know I jumped all over but that was no different than the book.

All Charley’s nightmares are real. Demons. Dark witches. Her murderous uncle. With her soul bound to an ancient demon lord and her sister taken captive by a monster, hope is in short supply. But Charley will not go down without a fight. Not when it comes to her sister, and not when it comes to the vampire king who’s claimed her heart. Even if it means siding with a brutal enemy from her past. Even if it means making a choice that will alter the course of her life… for eternity.

Redemption
Revisado: 01-13-25
It was definitely better than Dark Seduction. Lot of stupid twists in the story. Them almost having sex while trying to search Estes' home. WTH.
Sasha kidnapped and he is out in the city sniffing shampoo #sexysniffer WTH.
I did have questions from Book 2 that were answered so I'll call this book Redemption. Like how did dear old dad steal the thrown from House Kendrick. Question answered.
Lots of twists and subplots. I was not sure that the author would be able to clean it up.
All in all I was not as disappointed as I was with Book 2.
Lots of spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Performance 4 stars (narrators had better material this go round)
Story 3.5 (so much going on!)
Note: would love to see Aiden get his own story.

Get in, get the intel, get out. And above all, don’t get noticed. As a master thief, Charley D’Amico lived by those rules... until she screwed up and fell in love with her mark—a sexy, commanding vampire king whose cravings are as dark as his secrets. She should be running for her life. Instead, she’s running into his arms. Into his bed. Into his punishing, demanding mouth.

Boring and Disappointing
Revisado: 01-11-25
Boring and Convoluted.
So many stories woven inside, none of which seem to make sense. "He lives and dies by the fickle whims of his cock"
I absolutely love a good spicy novel but these two could not only keep their hands off of each other but they seemed to have a penchant for exhibitionism. Also Dorian's whiplash. After he reunited with her after learning her secret deception, they ended up together, all the while saying it wouldn't happen again. Why did it happen that time? Then he vascilated between animalistic need and humanly distaste of her. Then it keeps happening. I mean, is this a love connection, or can he, and she, for that matter, just not separate their loins from the conversation. It took so long for her to tell him her secret. She could have gotten him on her side long before. It would have been a great storyline if half the book was about an alliance verses them sexing each other every 5 min, and we were no closer to the truth. I feel like the last book is about to be a rush job because, yes, I am going to see this through. I also didn't like Dorian's background. The blaming of him for falling in love with a vampire that deceived him is kind of ridiculous when it was their conniving father that sold them all out, even their mother and young siblings. To make the mothers dying words be basically your brothee is weakbit he was the favorite son. To make him the weak one in that seemed stupid. Their father set that up. Then the story of Adele and how he became the Crimson Devil...well that was ok I guess but the fact that his family all except Aiden abandoned him because "here we go again letting his soft heart rule him". I just didn't like the picture painted of Dorian. He was unnecessarily painted weak by love. Now, his relationship with Charlotte appeared totally driven by lust, not love. That's all. I felt no connection between them except the sex. Even their burgeoning love story was a stretch at best. I just feel like we spent too much time having sex. Again, I'm all for the spice, but a clearly contrived storyline about a "weak" would be shamed King is not my favorite.
The first story I felt was better. Some background build-up is good. This nope. It was boring.
I listened to the audio and the male narrator sounded ok in the first book but maybe because the storyline was bad he spynded like a bad actor and his voices kept changing for the female main character...heck made her sound stupid. She was, but I guess he could only work with what he had to work with.
This was not my favorite. It's just bad.

I'm not interested in starting something deep and meaningful, but what I am interested in is the way your body reacts to mine when we're in the same room. You probably assume the concentration on my face is work-related, when in reality, I'm figuring out which I want more: to nail you against the wall, or to bend you over my desk.

Not a fan
Revisado: 01-02-25
The first book was ok enough. didn't like the rushed story.
Book 2
Why did she take the $1200. He made a note and it wasn't revisited. It was an unpaid Internship.
Why didn't she tell him about
Ch 2
What am I listening to?
Chap 6....WTF am I listening to? Presley went from a boss in The Two Week Arrangement to a disappointment.
The best part was the Q&A of Jacob Morgan because Andi Ardnt and Jacob Morgan...yes please.
However even they couldn't make this make sense. it even sounded like bad acting.

An alpha among the wolves of Wall Street, Kennedy Dawson rose to the top of the pack by striking the right contracts at the right times. But there's one deal that's been giving him a run for his money - a pact to never again let his assistant, Kate, get under his skin. She may be smart, gorgeous, and sharp as a whip, but she's definitely off-limits.

The Flip Flops
Revisado: 12-30-24
This one had me on an emotional Rollercoaster. Do I believe in love at first sight? People too much in their own heads? So much that they are blind to what's in front of them. Yes to all of that.
Story 3.7 only because I had a heart attack or two.
Performance 5 Zachary Weber say less
Overall 3.7 her flip flopping for someone who wanted someone all in was a bit nerve wracking.
She knew he cared and cared deeply. He'd done all the things he was a bit of a cyborg...she knew this so then he professed he'd fallen and she just blew him off. I hurt for him

So you want to be independent not leaving on anyone. All her troubles coming at one time. I felt for her but what I have a problem is how she moved in with Copeland. You kist mry him..didnt know who he was or that he was part of the family you were close to. You could have moved in with family matriarchs first. Then him....but right off the rip?

Trust doesn’t come easily when you’ve been running for as long as I have, which is why moving in with a man I barely know is such a bad idea. Shepard Colson is all golden-boy charm and devastating good looks. But I know what it’s like to be taken in by easy smiles and the promise of forever—I have the scars to prove it.

The scowl should’ve been my first clue to stay far away from Anson Hunt. The sexy smirk and the fact that he’s my brother’s best friend? Reasons two and three. Not to mention, he’s the new contractor working on my house. He’s everything I’m not: grumpy, rude, and more than a little attached to his solitude. It doesn’t matter how many times I try to kill him with kindness; the man simply won’t crack. Until he sees me shatter. Because when my world comes crashing down around me, Anson is the one catching me as I fall.

The Bell Boys...oh my
Revisado: 07-28-24
I'm glad I read Sinner first. If I'd have read this one first...I would not likely have picked it up to read.
With that being said....
I did not like this book. I did not like Poppy. She had no depth. She liked sex. Fine. She liked it rough fine. She wanted a husband and family. I did like that she chose herself over the ridiculousness that was Sterling. I didn't like that she f**cked Sterling at the club especially knowing he chosen another woman over her and couldnt give her what she wanted. To basically prove him right. She chose herself but she proved him right. She was too sexual to put a ring on it. He said he didn't want the type of hot wife men would constantly be after. They had no relationship other than sex. He loved her because she liked rough sex? Don't get me wrong him basically leaving the church was about finding out what other ways he could do good and serve God.
Him wanting to stick his cock in her mouth after first time hearing her in the confessional. Priest?
The sex on the altar?? Why? No part if that was sexy. No part of that taboo was enviable. It was giving ritualistic cult sex sacrifice.
He was the lamb. She was a lamb...just dumb. I would have expected more from the woman who made him rethink how he could serve God.
Not a great book.

Actually boring considering these two had a lot of sex. A lot of sex. Not sure how I liked all the oogling of each other's men. A lot of sex...don't get me wrong. I love the sex but when I feel no chemistry no story...It's like porno. i did not care for Sam. Guarded is one thing. Mean is another. Leo was of course all in. She was looking for a f*** buddy. Everything was he is so gorgeous she is so beautiful. it waa ok. I just like that these are the stories of the people referenced in the Wilds of Montana series (Book 2).
