Historia
When Gwendy Peterson was twelve, a mysterious stranger named Richard Farris gave her a mysterious box for safekeeping. It offered treats and vintage coins, but it was dangerous. Pushing any of its eight colored buttons promised death and destruction. Years later, the button box reentered Gwendy’s life. A successful novelist and a rising political star, she was once again forced to deal with the temptation the box represented. Now, malignant forces seek to possess the button box, and it is up to Senator Gwendy Peterson to keep it from them at all costs.

Great story
Revisado: 03-02-22
Stephen King is The King. And this book is classic King... which means it is a great story. It does have a very concise and clear description of the King-a-verse, and I don't remember any book with a description that clear other than the Dark Tower series.
In any case, highly recommended.
The performance was just ok. The reader took her highs too high and lows too low for my taste. She would be pontificating in loud voice and then go so low I had to rewind and turn up the volume to hear. Kind of annoying, especially in the car. Great readers are not a dime a dozen.

Historia
The second novel by Donna Tartt, best-selling author of The Goldfinch (winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize), The Little Friend is a grandly ambitious and utterly riveting novel of childhood, innocence, and evil. The setting is Alexandria, Mississippi, where one Mother’s Day a little boy named Robin Cleve Dufresnes was found hanging from a tree in his parents’ yard. Twelve years later Robin’s murder is still unsolved. So Robin’s sister Harriet - unnervingly bright and insufferably determined - sets out to unmask his killer.

Terrible ending
Revisado: 08-14-20
It felt like the author got bored and just stopped writing. Very disappointing, especially considering how great the Goldfinch was.

Space Combat
Revisado: 07-03-18
This book had a lot of action, and a good story. There were times I had to go back and forth to figure out where I was, but overall I really enjoyed listening to this book and will definitely be buying the previous books in the series as well. The narrator was good and represented the characters well. This is worth a credit.

Love Greek Gods!
Revisado: 05-08-18
I love anything do to with Greek Gods. The author did a wonderful job of creating an interesting premise and story around them. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the other books in the series to be available on Audible.
The narration was a little over the top for me. Very melodramatic ALL the time. I don't mind melodrama when the story calls for it, but when it is overdone, it starts to bother me. I realize this is a subjective thing, though, so I don't want to ding the rating too much for this. And it obviously is not something that should keep anyone from using a credit on this one. Still very enjoyable and worth a listen.

Historia
My name's Morgan Rook, supernatural detective, undercover agent, odd jobs man. I take out the nightmares, demons, and werewolves. Guys like us call them Nightkind. I had one final job. There's always one. This time a call to eliminate a cruel, rogue vampire, named Mr. Tudor. Simple, right? Sure. Until the bodies started piling up in a new wave of vicious occult killings leading scarily close to my own front door, sparking a series of deadly events that would make my years of fighting the Nightkind look like a cakewalk.

Morgan Rook is the MAN !
Revisado: 04-17-18
Any additional comments?
The main character, Morgan Rook, is a real bad a$$... a la Harry Dresden. The book starts out fast with big fight scenes and the action continues throughout the book. A really fun read. I think Morgan could have been developed a little earlier in the book... he is pulling out these awesome powers in fights but we don't have any reference for them so I felt a little lost early on. The author does develop him as the book goes on and after finishing I realized some of that delay was probably by design. The author wordsmiths very well. I really enjoyed the writing style. The narrator was pretty good. Not awesome, but not bad either.Overall I recommend the book if you like this type of urban fantasy genre.I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

My least favorite Dune book
Revisado: 08-27-08
I thought Dune was outstanding. The next two were good, but not outstanding. This last installment i just didn't get. I would skip multiple chapters just to get through it until i finally just listened to the last hour to know what happened. This is just one mans opinion, but I thought I should post it since all the other opinions seem to be contrary to mine.
I'd also like to say that Brian's prequels are all outstanding reads/listens.
