About the only positive I can point out about this book is that if you ever want to know what a 0.1 Essence character, who has replaced every bit of themselves they can without being fully dead, sounds like then this will give you an idea. First don't make ChatGPT scrapers the internet and write your book. Secondly if you refuse to pay a professional and have Clippy read your audiobook, at very least listen to it so you can fix where it cannot pronounce certain words.

Firstly I don't know if it counts as tone-deaf or unintentional irony to use AI to read content about a world where corporations are using technology to undermine and oppress people. I feel permission wasn't given by the rights holder. Also, using AI to try and read a fantasy/sci-fi story is a terrible idea for how often it fails to pronounce the less traditional words properly.

Brilliant Story, Weak Presentation

I loved reading this book, and looked forward to the Audiobook to support the series.
However, the voice actor is so emotionless and sterile that it is next to impossible to get in the story. Kudos to them on excellent pronunciations on difficult names and fantasy words, but to be so detached from such a deep and compelling world makes the disconnect that much more stark.

I can't take this narration seriously

Overall the story is a pretty good romp through the sprawl, but the narration is so goofy that I have to stop every few chapters. I strongly suggest buying the actual book, and keeping an eye out for when they recast the audiobook.
