This breaks my heart!
Revisado: 06-30-22
This really breaks my heart to write a review like this because I was really in love with this series. I usually don’t give negative reviews because most of the time it’s just preference. Not the case here. This audiobook is very bad. Chris Weatherman is up front about not being the worlds best writer but he has always managed to convey a good story that holds the reader’s attention. Likewise, Duke Fontaine usually delivers a decent performance that is diverse and entertaining. This audiobook fails to deliver on both accounts; big time! This book doesn’t make use of good chapter breaks and the dialog has very poor rhythm. When this is combined with a very flat performance by Duke, it makes it sound like a 6th grader is reading a book to you. There is no diversity between characters and the storyline is extremely chaotic. I could go on and on and talk about the holes in the plot as well but I feel bad enough as it is about this review. If I could give some advice it would be to find a real editor and some alpha and beta readers that hare honest and not just fanboys. I am an A. American fan and own all of the hard copies and audiobooks in this series but I feel like I really got ripped off with this one. This book has only been out a week or so and it should be retracted, edited and rereleased or sorry to say, it will certainly be the end of this series.

Historia
It was a hard-learned lesson but Jim Powell finally understood that isolating his group of friends and family was no longer the best idea. It was a strategy that had once kept them safe, but lately seemed to be doing exactly the opposite. Staying out of town and away from people had led to them missing critical intelligence—that there were people in their community actively plotting against Jim.

A feel good post-apocalyptic tale!
Revisado: 06-22-22
Great pace and character development which is consistent with all of the author’s books! You would not need to read all of the other books in the series to enjoy this story, although I highly recommend it. There is Easter eggs in this book that will mean more if you read previous books and the author’s other series. It ties in beautifully and is something that I always look forward to. Kevin Pierce delivers a brilliant performance as usual. Great job all around!

Excellent!!!
Revisado: 09-22-21
I absolutely love how the author connects his other series together to make one big world of characters. This book did not disappoint and was performed masterfully by Kevin Pierce! Great job on all fronts.

A brilliant addition to the story

I really loved this book!! Although I have read the whole series this book could stand by itself and catches you up nicely.
As always, Kevin Pierce’s performance brings the characters to life.
On point!

You can tell that the author has done thorough research on the subject matter and does a great job of weaving facts into the storyline. This is an audiobook that is hard to turn off!

Bad performance.
Revisado: 03-26-19
The reader really destroys the dialogue in this book. There is some good content but is overall very boring. A lot of this may be due to the reader.

Book 2 of the series American Apocalypse continues the heroic struggles of an unlikely band of survivors in Southern Oregon. Joe Harp, the leader, was an overweight auto mechanic without any special survival skills. He had never been in the military but did know how to hunt, fish, and camp. He also had some notes his Grandma left him plus some survival books and supplies his Grandpa left him in an old cabin in the woods. Cobie Simms worked as a clerk at an outdoors store. She was working hard to survive before the SHTF while raising her daughter alone. Joe and Cobie team up to fight the evil around them and make life better for those in their small group.

Awkward personal relationships!
Revisado: 02-25-19
I was excited for this story after book one but I found the relationships between the characters to be rather awkward. Although I think the author is a very good technical writer I found it difficult to relate to the social interactions between the characters. The social situations felt rushed and unrealistic.
